OK, let me jump on the band wagon here. I'm not taking sides just yet as far as either praising or condemning this upcoming program before I've actually seen a few episodes of it, but I tend to have the same pre-broadcast attitude that Lorna, Elizabeth, Anita, Kristen, and Calina_Leigh have expressed. ANY exposure of crossdressing to the public done in a dignified and respectable manner is more positive publicity than we usually get. Yes, these men were tricked into the competition, but their wives were aware of what was going to happen before their husbands/boyfriends agreed to be on the series. In addition, you can bet that once the true premise of the program was revealed they could have backed out. This pretty much kills the 'forced feminization' concept. True, the lure of the prize money is a big factor, but these guys all had the same feeling that there's safety in numbers so if one of them saw that the others were gonna go for it, then they decided that they would too.

Let's also keep in mind here that the promo for this program says that these men are going to live as LADYS. That pretty much eleminates the stereotypical 'Jerry Springer' brands of crossdressers and makes the competition a SERIOUS venture into the world of femininity and not simply one to be taken as a joke. Sure, anticipate there to be some funny areas in the show, who wouldn't? And if you think about it, it would be pretty dull without a little humor here and there.

But I think we'd be doing TBS an injustice by condemning the program before it's ever aired. If it turns out to be a farce, THEN would be the time to bombard TBS with emails of complaints. If it turns out to be successful we should also flood their mailbox with emails, but with commendations and praises. Doing such AFTER the shows air will give them an idea as to whether or not to pursue a second season of the same or to change their views about us as crossdressers.

HI all, :)

I had not heard about this new program until I read all these posts.

Sue and I are on the road most of the time and dont have a tv in the
truck, took it out, didnt watch it anyway.

I hope that a show like this will open the "eye" of people all over.
Maybe they will see that we as "Crossdressers" are not "freaks"
or "fairies" or whatever it is people choose to call us.
I will hope that my own sisters and brothers will see this show!
As they have been my harshest critics, and sadly all 4 of my sisters and
my youngest brother have chosen to "disown" me because I refuse to
live as "they" say I must! And yes they do demand!! But I dont take
orders from anyone but my wife!! LOL [-( :P

So I will read about the show here. Hope you all will keep me up to
date. It does sound intersting.

Thanks, Connie Lynn
Hugs, Connie Lynn

Eww ouch, from the information page they got on the TBS site, it is not looking to promising :( . http://www.tbs.com/shows/hesalady I truly hope that the vibe I get from the page does not represent [-X what the show will actually be like.

Even looking worse, from the show link on the site:
TBS, television's very funny network, takes eleven men on a wild adventure as they walk a mile in their wives or girlfriends' shoes when they undergo a complete feminine makeover in the new original reality series He's a Lady. The show, hosted by Tony Frassrand (House Detective), comes to TBS from Evolution Film & Tape, Inc. (Switched!, Bands Reunited) and Full Circle Entertainment.

To be honest i think crossdressers are always looked upon as weard or freaks gay wathever kinda like the bearded lady in the freakshow
And you have to be honest i bet all you girls had a hard time accepting yourself or coping with the feelings you have i know i did
So i dont expect for a complete noob to understand what we all have gone trought or still are going trough
I dont think you can expect that to from people
BUT i do think a tv station could show some respect or at least do some research on the subject there putting on and a tv show who can be the best women??? bet it only goes skin deep like who looks the cutest in a skirt
And thats not what crossdressing is about its all about our female feelings we have and dressing up is just give expression to that feeling but he what do they know
Ok i like it when i wear a skirt and pantyhose or any female piece of clothing but its the feeling that counts i just relax more when i do
Maybe they should do a show on us our lives and how we had to deal with a lot of very hard issues
i think when people walked a mile in our shoes(some nice 7"heels  )they would realy know how difficult it is
But thats just an idea prolly never happen
till then guess we just have to hope things will change some day and as long my wife accepts me just as i am then i dont mind what the rest thinks
Aim for heaven because if you miss your target you end up among the stars

tv stations, or rather, producers of tv shows (the one gambling money on the show) are interested in only one thing -- making big $$$ return on their investment! So, they are more interested in trying to predict what people will watch rather than try to do something properly. Viewers take the blame too for constantly making dumb shows popular, so what is a producer to do?

Alexandra, I agree with you completly,

I can remember a time when putting on a pair of heels was a show within itself, it was pretty funny walking, or a bra that was way to big or too small. Of cousre this type of thing is going to be egxagorated (spelling?) in this show. Having some fun with crossdressing, I think, will still be a positve thing for all of us. Television has never been concerned how a show effects a group of people but how many people are going to watch. If your thinking that we are going to change the minds of producers, we are not. Money and only Money drives the television. ( I was going to say tv,but I thought that might be confusing). I also think this will be better representation of crossdressing then what we've seen on Jerry Springer. No live audieince will help. Are these guys going to put up with a whole lot of humiliation for themselves, we shall see. I also think it will be intresting to see how each person handles themselves while dressed, this could be an education for us too. .........Keep smilin, keep dressin, keep postin.....kristen[/quote]
Do want you want to do, be who you want to be.

I don't think there is such a thing as a "reality show". All shows must have contracts with their performers which must detail the intent of the producers and the requirements of the performers. i. e. the producers must tell the performers what is in store for them. By definition, that's acting, not reality. However, I think I'll check out the 1st episode before I pass judgement.
