Remember the story I told that happened to me at the Goodwill store. I was prowling through the "Ladies Bin." It contains some really neat stuff, silk scarfs, full and half-slips, etc. I found one really nice (expensive) leather glove and as I was searching for the mate, a little gray haired lady watching me smiled and said, "Kinda in the wrong bin aren't you, sonny??" I turned to her and said, "Only if I can't find the mate to this glove!" I might mentioned I was holding on my arm a couple of "unmentionables" a full slip and a half slip and a pair of brand new black panties, that still had the VS tag attached. As if by magic she reached into the bin and pulled out the mate to the glove. Somewhat shocked I thanked her and turned to walk away and her parting shot was,
"Hope all that fits!" she said and smiled. Yes I have been watched!!!
It don't bother this girl at all, dresssed or en drab!

Good for you Virginia =D> =D>

I have never been bothered by anyone whilst browsing , I had an early experience of a cashier asking me if the leotard and tights that I was puchasing were for myself.
I answered in one word "YES!", the young female cashiers face turned as red as a tomato.

Three and a half years ago a clerk in really upscale store bothered me while I was looking at bra and panty sets for my wife for our anniversary and suggested an expensive nightgown instead.

I never went back there.

I went to another store in the same mall and found 2 cute bra and panty sets plus a beautiful satin gown and robe set for less than the first store wanted for one bra and panty set. She loved them! Guess where I shopped after that?

Since I have always done my in-store shopping in my "guy" clothes, yes, I have been looked at. I can't say that anyone was staring because I was paying more attention to my own shopping than I was to them. But, nobody has ever bothered me and the sales people were always pleasant.

Love,
Kathy

I don't think I have I have had a couple of questions from the sales girl about if it was for me. I always answer yes just to see the response and then follow up with the how do you think it will look question. I love it when I get a question.
To be honest I still feel some angst when I am cruising the bra and panty selection at Ross cross dress for less, but know one seems to care...Sallee

I get stared at, but I just dont take any notice anymore. When I was insecure about dress shopping, i used to shop red faced cause i was scared what people would think. But now I simply dont care what people think.

the reason i ask this question is because i get it all the time, people stare at me like i've got a really big spot on my head or something.

I don't see others looking too much, only every once in awhile.

Mostly I think they are just curious for whatever reasons.... I've never asked anyone, although it would be interesting to do that.

Almost without exception, the sales staff have always been very polite and helpful, and very few have ever asked me who I was buying for.

I've been shopping for womens clothes so long now, that I never give a second thought to being in those sections of stores. Again, if you act like you belong there, most people don't give you a second look.

I carried this thread in my head today while I was in Goodwill. I was en drab. a few ladies in there this morning. I was standing shoulder to shouder with some of them going throught the skirt racks and then the blouses and sweaters. I tried to notice if I was being looked at as inconspictious as possible. I did see a couple of ladies quickly glance at me, and as we passed in the narrow aisles, it was just a quick smile and an "excuse me!" I can not say that even the older ladies even gave me a second look/thought. For me it does not bother me one way of the other, I even carried a couple of items back to the dressing room to try on and no one seemed the least bit interested. One lady actually commented to me, "that's pretty" as I pulled the pink silk nightgown off the rack to look at. She was, well a bit on the large size so it would not have fit her anyway.

I'm going to say yes I think I have been, But I think maybe a lot of it is my imagination. I think I'm just a bit nervous and I should learn to get over it. :-k

Not that I am aware of. On the other hand I myself often give other men the once over wondering if they are there for the same reason I am.

How I feel internally is interesting. I think I posted this elsewhere. Right now I am in the throes of Xmass shopping. I am getting lots of clothes for my daughters. I wind up asking questions of other women shoppers about these things, also of the sales clerk. I feel entirely comfortalbe about this. Of course I am not buying them bras although I did get all the ladies in the family Halloween underwear with spiders and skeletons on them.

The kids clothes couldn't conceivable fit me. But it's a very short leap to that larger item that is for my wife. Or me. How do they know? So I try to remember that.

On the other hand when we come to stuff like bras unless they are really sexy how many women would consider having a man buy their bra for them without them available to try it on? Probably not many. So I figure that most of the sales women may know. Only once has anything been said and it got turned into a joke which the people behind me in line also thought was funny.

I've noticed that in sexy lingerie stores and Victoria Secret back when I would shop there that sometimes half the customers are men. So I don't stand out anyway regardless of why I or anyone else is there.

Can't say as I ever have been stared at for shopping in the ladies section. I'm not self concious about it, so don't tend to look to see if anyone is looking, however.
