High School... Were you a loser?

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Hi Beauty,

Hmmmm... Anthony Michael Hall, eh? For some reason, I'd rather picture you as Molly Ringwald. But that's just me.

I must have been one of those few lucky ones that never had anykind of problems in high school. Wee, lucky me!

Everyone always wanted to be my friend, even though I never considered myself to be anything special. I suppose I was just always in the right place in the right time. Still, despite the lack of bad memories, I wouldn't want to go back to high school. University is much nicer place. :p

Call me crazy, but I always wanted to go to a school where one would have to wear a school uniform. Sometimes they just look too cute.

I am in high school now and I am the BIGGEST LOSER! I am OBSESSED with game shows. Price Is Right, my favorite. Everybody knows it. I am such a big loser. I have never had a girlfriend, and I don't have an awful lot of friends...all get sick of me and GAME SHOWS! LOL.

You still have plenty of time to get girlfriends and friends. Just wait until you get out of high school, now that's when your life really begins.

But you're not a loser just because you like game shows. We all have the right to live our lives the way we want. Don't you think, darling? :)
I sometimes watch game shows myself! If you're in the right mood, they can be quite addictive. :P

Hi BG,

Game show addiction doth not a loser make! Some people still consider me a loser because, at 42, I still enjoy playing video games. I just don't give a rodent's butt what they think.

Although Shannon addressed this in the original post, I think it's important to remember the power of words; when we say "loser," here in this thread, it's meant to be in a playful way, not in a derogatory one. I find that the people around me I respect the most, the ones I certainly consider winners, are they who refuse to consider themselves losers--no matter what they do and no matter what others think of what they do (or of who they are, for that matter).

You've got much experience and much life coming your way, Beautiful Gal, some of it exhilirating, some of it difficult. It's all good, and it's all yours to shape in your own way.

Just remember these three things:
-- Never bid all of your money in the Final Jeopardy round.
-- Always repeat to yourself: "I'll take Self-Esteem for $2,000 please, Alex."
-- Make your every action a Daily Double action.

CJ

Hi Beautiful,

I'm glad you don't think of yourself as a loser AND I'm glad you're addicted to game shows and not drugs! :) :)

As long as you don't forget to go out every once in a while, watching TV isn't bad for you or anyone else. :)

I myself am quite addicted to japanse anime myself. I'm not sure why I don't like western type anime so much...

Ive never found myself to be very popular with anyone, much to my anoyance in later life. At school I wouldn't class myself to be a loser but I certainly never had many friends. In fact I remember being bullied many times during my school life.

During the last few years I have tried to understand why and one of my battles is that I find it hard to mix with people. Its much easier to stay at home and watch TV than to go out and make new friends. I always feel very uncomfortable in a crowd, I like the intimacy of a few people at a time. It doesn't help having a young family either as my wife and I don't get out much without our kids being with us.

I was never femine ever, I was always happy to be male, but I have noticed that I do not fit well into the typical male sterotype - you know the type, one of the lads, likes to have a drink down the pub, loves football, very machoe, sometimes lacks feeling towards their fellow man and uses course sexual inuendos as a way of communication, O and they like to party. I'm not putting these males down but I have never identified myself to be one of them.

I really dislike those so called 'real' men. Who are as macho as they come. They love to drink beer, watch football/ice hockey, drink some more beer, swear a little and then whistle and drool after every female they see.

Yuck!

And if you ask them to be bit more sensitive, they think you're gay. Sigh...truly, god bless women. This world would be nothing without them. :)
