Don't wash your Pals !

Post by Lydia »

Just got a pair of the Pals breastforms the other day. I had two complaints: one was the flat back; the other was the fragrance.

The flat back was tolerable, but the hideous fragrance they impregnated the things with was not - at least not to me.

I cleverly thought that the smell could be washed out. So I soaked them in tepid slightly soapy water. Big mistake! Odor was almost gone, but the forms were a sticky mess - even though dry. It looks like I've wasted $64.00 . Anybody want two boob-shaped lumps of sticky plastic?

Moral of the story: not all plastic is washable.

Hugs,

Lydia

Honey,
First I have two sets and like a good girl should I always wash them after I wear them and have had no problem. Second, mine did have a slight odor when I first got them, but after a couple of washings with mild soap, Dove, Olay, whatever, it went away.

Now your problem seems to be counterfeits!!! I have looked on EBay and other places and have never seen a set of Pals for $64.00. Maybe you were lucky, but that fact alone (your washing problems) would lead me to believe that they are not the real thing! I have had both my sets for well over three years and they get worn two to three times a week and sometimes at seminars like SCC for day after day, and I have never had any problems with them, or in cleaning them.

Let us know what you decide to do and sorry you are having a problem.

Love ya,
Virginia

I am considering buying PALs....and the current price is about $50-80 depending on size.

I am curious about the care and cleaning of them. I also have seen that they (the manufacturer) still doesnt have an adhesive they feel comfortable with.

So--looking forward to more information being shared here.

Thanks in advance.

As I posted before, I tried Elizabeth's recommended spray-on glue on a set I have that are not Pal's. They are about a "c" cup and they held quite well. When I tried the spray adhesive on my Pals - no way!! They are a "d" and are much too heavy. There are some medical adhesives, but from what I saw they are about $60.00 for the tape. Think of how many nice bras that $60.00 would buy? =D>

I am sure there are some adhesives that would hold Pals but it becomes a personal choice. However, the summer dresses sure look nice, strapless.
Let us know what you decide to do. :-k

Hi Virginia,

I think you were right about my "Pals." The intense sweet odor persisted even after wash. I used tepid water with a small dash of Dove liquid soap. They came out impossibly sticky - even after drying. I carried them out at arms length to the garbage in a double plastic bag like carrying a long dead cat. I was had. The vendor was listed by Google: www.supergelproducts.com. Amazon was selling the same model for $99.

My silicone boobs are about 2 years old, and one has a small 1/4" tear that I fixed with a bit of Tegaderm. I'll stay with them for another 2 years.

Hugs,

Lydia

I think you just got a bad pair.
I wash mine and they have never changed and became sticky or smelled like sweat.

I purchased my forms from the BFS and they tell you for care to wash after use with a warm damp soapy cloth, pat dry, and store in their boxes to maintain their shape. I even put a little baby talc on them and mine are over 3 years old and still looking good. (--)

Where do you purchase PALs?
I have 2 sets of forms a small B and a large B/small C.
I would love to get a D cup next, but I've spent 160.00 each for the ones I have right now.

Pals for 60-80.00? That sounds pretty good!
Huggs,

I've had my Pals for a couple years now. No problems whatsoever.
In the care instructions they recommend to use powder on them after wearing/cleaning. I sprinkle them with lavender scented baby powder, and then kinda rub it in them. Good as new.
