I don't see that any of these posts put you down for feeling the way you do. Some of the posts do react strongly to the word because they don't care for what it means to them personally.We as a group must accept the differences in each other and support those differences. We can't expect the outside world to accept us if we can't accept each other.

Yes growing up being called a sissy was a challenge to a fight.
My daughters called each other sissy as a term of affection, which was the first time I realized it was a affectionate form of the word sister. That is now the meaning I like to ascribe to the word.
As for the sexualized or submissive connottations to the word sissy I don't really care for them and don't use it in that context.
In regards to my femme side, I think my male and female aspects are pretty well integrated into one person. However if I was to divide them up my female side would be the strong side, the side that endures, while the male side would be the more emotional and energetic side that burns out earlier. The female side would be a reflection of a number of women I have been close to, none of whom would ever be called submissive. None of them would ever consider them to be a model for a submissive sissy.
