The first time I saw Ashwarya Rai (“Bride and Prejudice”), I audibly gasped. I think she may be the most stunningly beautiful woman I have ever seen. I have to agree with the “classicists” who put up Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. I’d also have to include Ingrid Bergman in that list, even though she didn’t age well. On the other hand, Maureen O’Hara aged exceedingly well. As a teen, I was deeply in lust with Natalie Wood, and please make room on the list for Jennifer Jones, Parminder Nagra (“Bend It Like Beckham”) and Paz Vega (“Spanglish”).

Someone mentioned Gwyneth Paltrow, but I thought her mother, Blythe Danner, was much more attractive. Mia Kirschner really caught my eye in “Mad City”, but I don’t think I’ve seen her in anything since. Jaclyn Smith would have to make my list, as would Valerie Bertinelli and Kirstie Alley (their recent weight troubles notwithstanding). Also, Keri Russell and Amy Adams (particularly in “Charlie Wilson’s War”).

There are a number of young actresses who have caught my eye, not as classic beauties, but because there is a certain sweetness to them. Jena Malone is certainly one of these, as are Emma Watson and Alexis Bledel (I have a niece who looks just like her). Oh, and don’t forget Ellen Page!
I'm not that kind of girl.
