Mixed gender clothing and appearances

I got my hair cut again.
I'm growing the bottom layer long for my partner. i loved my shorter hair but it was upsetting me that he didn't find my hair as sexy as he used too.
Still I cannot yet give up cutting my top layer short so i can gell it up maybe i won't grow it till I'm much older. I love my spiked hair. thinking of going nuts and cheering myself up about the longer girly layer by having some crazy coloured streaks in it. eccebtricities are always fun regardless of masc or femme.
anyway while i was waiting for my hair appointment as i finished my exam about half an hour early pretty sure i failed I went to Sohos.
Bought a femme goth top but summery so i have stuff to wear this summer but can still be a bit goth and for the first time in years bought a new skirt. very very goth and slutty and short. I bought it for my partner really he hasn't see me in something new and fem in a while.

To make myself feel better about this i also bout another man's top. Its black and baggy and really comfy and says 'smile if you are gay' pretty much sums up my perspective may even wear it at next lgbt committee they'll laugh.

How did you change your hair style or was it a wig?

I'm lucky to still have more than enough hair to style and I've worn it long for my entire adult life (it's longer than the photo I used for my avatar right now.) I told my stylist to deliberately aim for a feminine cut quite a while before I transitioned, and even started doing some highlighting.

What about nail varnish

I kept my nails on the long side and frequently went with a french or very sheer pink polish. I didn't go to work with anything darker or more striking until I was living as a woman, but I had done so for vacations.

Minou, for me there is never the right mood for me. There is just the mood that I am in. I am a person who is a mix of masculine and feminine traits and personalities. Most of the time I am wearing a mix of masculine and feminine clothes presenting a male image. Some days I choose clothes based on my mood and feelings when I dress, other days I just grab what is on top, and like everyone my daily tasks for the day influence some of my choices. And when near home and those that know me I am always presenting a male or female image that fits societies dual gender view.

As for more specifics for you in how I present a mixed gender look, I do this when I am away from home and those that know me. Living in a small conservative town it would be hell for my kids if many of their class mates found out. Some of my mixed mode presentations include:
Bra under male clothes where bra is obvious.
Bra and forms under male clothes.
Bra, forms, mild feminine top, jeans.
Options include:
No forms.
Add trouser socks, opaque or sheer hosiery.
More feminine top.
Skirt instead of jeans.
Add femme flats.
Femme heels.
Lipstick.
Nail polish.
Others.

I wear a lot of denim skirts in long lengths in both mixed and full femme modes.

I wear femme jeans and panties everyday with otherwise male clothing. I wear a skirt and a tee shirt around the house and yard.

I guess what I am looking for is a bit of fashion advise on mixed gender clothing :-)

Minou, when I am dressing in mixed mode I dress casual but feminine. It is not over the top feminine. I an not trying for major shock value but just want to present a decent feminine look that blends and fits the location I am going to. I dress to be comfortable and enjoy my time out and about. I also consider any time I spend out in public and being seen in any femme mode as an educational experience for those that see me. I want the education to be as positive as possible where they are just seeing me or interacting with me.

The skirts I have worn in mixed mode have been mostly longer denim, some pencil, but most a fuller cut. See my pictures in the photo gallery with the denim skirt. The tops I have worn are everything from just a basic, yet nice tee shirt, but mostly a basic femme top/blouse that is not overly feminine. And usually it is obvious that I am wearing a bra with some chest. For foot attire I usually wear a basic femme flat.

IMHO nothing wrong with the "guy in a dress" look as long as the dress fits well and looks good on him. And they are acting in a decent manor. Like shopping for more dresses.

i wear womans jeans, some kind of nylons and canvas mary-janes regulary. i'm dying to wear my new open toed sandels, nylons, with painted toe nails out. my goal is to someday 'pass'. i wouldn't wear a skirt or dress out as a guy. whats to much of a mixed 'message'? thanks, bobby
