I am diabetic. When you have that chronic problem, your foot health is very important, as most diabetics wind up with at least one foot amputated if they don't take care of them. So, I wear nothing hgher than 1 1/2 to 2 inches, and that rarely. They have to fit really well even then.

Actually, wearing really high heels is damaging to your feet and your legs even if you wear them for only a short time, especially if you are trying to walk or do anything. I have ditzy friends who totter about in 4 and 5 inch inch heels with pointed toes all day, then compain about their feet and legs hurting. DUH!!!! They effectively cripple themselves while they are wearing them, and bone spurs and tendonitis, bunions and other foot and toe problems will result and persist to cripple them later. Most are constantly searching for "comfortable shoes" during their shopping trips, and may have up to 50 pair, wear them once, find out they hurt, and that's it.

They are not real good with cause and efffect problems, and some also mistakenly think they need to suffer for their concept of looking good. 'Tain't necessarily so Newton.

High heels are a sexist plot by the male patriarchy to drum up business for foot doctors.. ..rofl..
Actually I think Virginia said that wearing heels seemed to help her knee problems. I know that when my knee hurts I tend to walk slightly tip toed. But it's often seemed to me the feminists who burned bras in the 1970's should have just burned their high heels instead, as they do an awful lot more harm and are probably the most incapacitating form of clothing in western society.

I have 2 pair of 4 inch heels and several 3 inch. I have no problem wearing any of them. But a 6' 2" I really stand out with any heels.
Also, I wear men's size 12. So size 14 heels are not easily (or inexpensively) found. Most of my heels are a 13. A bit tight, but okay.>

I haven't measured my heels, but according to my GG friends I tend to wear taller than average. One thing to note is that I don't wear many of my heels all day, there is no reason to. I just got some really really tall platform stiletto pumps and I won't be able to just put them on and go. The problem isn't so much they are so tall but they are so steep. I'll need to build up to them with time the day before and making sure I pop them off often the days I wear them out.

My understanding is that the taller you are, the taller your heels can be. This is all about proportions. The tall heels won't look as tall if you're so tall. Also if you have a big, long foot, you're heels can be taller too. This is because of the angle created. The steepness is not as great when you have the low end "so far away".
