sweater dresses

I love sweater dresses, so cozy and warm in this chilly Michigan weather. I think what I truly love is you can dress them up with sheer hose and pumps or dress them down with tights and boots. My favorite one is a forest green turtleneck sweater dress I bought on clearance last year at Penney's, It is knee length and for running around I pair it with heather gray tights and black knee length boots with a little wedge heel. I have also worn it for dress with sheer black pantyhose and black patent pumps. The only thing with a sweater dress is it shows every little curve and bump so it means a good firm girdle.

I'm wearing a grey woolen sweater dress right now with black tights and black mary jane heels. It's only 8 degrees out today and I'm really comfortable in this dress.

Part of it is being acclimated to our Wisconsin winters I keep my house at about 64 degrees because my old home has poor insulation (which I plan to fix soon) and keeping it any warmer is way too costly. I'm fine in a t-shirt on all but the very cold and windy nights.

It's funny, I was out in AZ in January a few years back, and rented a convertible because it was cheaper than an economy car and had the top down in 60 degree weather, everyone else was in winter coats, windows up and heat blasting.. looking at me like I'm the freak

I'm with you on warm dresses, they do seem hard to find. I may have to look into a sweater dress, I do love the cable knit sweter look.
