The "fight or flight" and natural "fear" response in all of us is as necessary as having two eyes, two ears, two hands, two feet.

The chill that we get when doing something for the first time, is a reminder that we are alive and our nervous system is functioning as intended. It keeps us "on our toes," always aware of the ever changing time around us.

Well done Kersten! We are all very proud of your efforts. Do not think small of them, this was a major league "home run." Leaving the house, going in front of the "public eye," is no small matter. Often I have been told by people of stature, [Astronauts and alike], when given praise they offer a simple "thank you" becuase they know that they deserve the admiration. You too have earned this by what you have done on any scale of the immagination.

It was a "major" event in your life. A stepping stone toward developing your own special personality. A freedom ringing effort to give us all a moment in the limelight of social exposure. For those still in their closet, it was like going to the moon! Let freedom ring!

Congratulations on a job well done!!

You have opened yourself up for so many up and coming CDs who may view your tape and also for therapists and counselors to learn more of our phoenomenon.

You mentioned that you don't consider yourself a hero. But you could very well be for many curious students who will now have a better understanding of who we are... heck, you're a hero in my book if you don't mind my saying so.

I just can't tell you how proud I am of you. I chickened out just wearing my new blouse to the grocery store. I could not imagine deliberately putting myself under the scrutiny of others, as a subject of thier curiosity.

This is how acceptance starts. People finding out we are just people. Caring, loving, tax paying, just looking for some happiness, people. Not to say I will see it in my lifetime, but I know eventually crossdressers will be a common sight in public.

Will prejudice and bigotry end? NO. There will always be hate groups to promote prejudice and bigotry, but they will not be allowed to operate in the open, like they used to. I find it somewhat satisfying to know that the KKK, and Neo Nazi's have to operate in secret, and need police protection when they attempt to publically spread thier hate. Even when I was in the south, very few people admitted to supporting, or being a member of the KKK. Attitudes do change, but it takes people to stand up and be counted.

Again, I am proud of you and this endeavor. As my sister Lorna has so proudly displayed "Be the miracle". You are a shining example.
