I'm an older TS just transitioning, and had a consult with a plastic surgeon about BA and other things. With my chest, he recommended a final bust of either a C+ or a small D. The prosthetics (filled) he used for demo looked large to me at D, and about right at C, but he maintained I needed a D (550cc) for esthetics as it would need to spread out on my chest somewhat--as my current natural A cup does. Gonna feel heaa-vy, and make a good fitting bra a must.
Hope that helps. Carolynn
Sound like you have had some good advice there, if you have a large flat chest then (IMHO) I would think you would need to make the chest more rounded, to take the masculinity away. having a D cup, would I'm sure make your top more rounded, hence giving a more feminine appearence over all.
Good Luck with your transistion, (not for me) but I understand your needs
