Looks cool  CJ :)

I've never seen spiral stair on the outside of a building before. And gosh those stairs look steep. Must be hell in high heels.

Hi all,

Donna,

Outdoor spiral staircases are a distinctive feature of Montreal architecture. (You'd think that in a city that has to submit to a six-month winter they'd have thought of building the stupid things indoors but, no! Go figure. :? ) Still, they're might pretty in the summertime. (And, yes, it's not always easy negotiating this kind of twisty "vertical tunnel" while wearing a pair of strappy heels; last time I tried it, on Halloween, I drew a round of applause from the guys at the garage across the street. :P )

Here's a few more Montreal staircase shots.

oohh. I like those. I installed a metal spiral staircase in an older house I remodelled once. Might be worth a visit to Montreal . . . do they have many houses with mid-19th century french-style mansard roofs?

Hi all,

Alexandra,

We have tons! And not just in the older parts of town. Here's a pic I took back in the late summer:

We haven't had any snow yet :( We rarely get snow here as we live on the South Coast, though they have had snow up North.

Hi all,

The worse the winter weather gets, the more I appreciate some of the features on my car I bought in April:

antilock brakes (better control and straight stopping on icy roads), heated outside mirrors (no scraping them and then having to readjust), Heated leather front seats (on a freezing day happiness is a warm tush).

Now if something can be done about making those white cars more visible.

I WANT SNOW!!! Here in the Bay Area if we want snow we have to drive minimum 4 hours to see it. We make it a vacation. The weather here is SOOOOOOOO boring. Sun, sun, sun sun, sun, sun, sun, oops rain, little more rain, then some sun, then little rain, then back to 6 or 7 months of sun. How boring is that?

Hi girls,
I just noticed this thread, even though its a couple weeks old. Just had to add my $.02

Carol Ann, girl can you believe that it snowed here on christmas! Okay, so we had more sleet than snow. But still!
We had slush-ball fights in the front yard. Truly unbelievable.

Anyway, temps are back up around 65~70 degrees now. (Typical wet winter weather for N'awlins)

Hugs,
Kyra

P.S. - I miss the snow, too!
