I can remember buying my first skirt too, it was so nerve racking and yet so exilarating to be buying a skirt in the ladies department.
I just took a guess at the size and fortunately it fit
It was a longer skirt coming about half way between knees and ankles, red plaid, and pleated.
I love the skirt, still have it and wear it often

You go girl, I remember the first mini skirt, and now you can't get me out of them.
Yes it get's easier to buy when you find out that the salesperson dosen't care if you are buying it for yourself or girlfriend, S.O. , wife etc..........
I'm very happy for you!
