How did I miss this post? I guess I haven't been paying much attention lately. I am one of the few current members of Kappa Beta who actually lives in Charlotte. If you're looking for someone to get out with, I'm always doing stuff outside of KB, and it would be nice to meet someone new.
If you haven't been to KB in a while, I should let you know that there have been some changes, most good, a few bad. We've had to change internet domains, and there's a new Yahoo group.
PM me if you'd like.

Donna,
I plan on getting out and about. I am just not quite ready yet. I am ready emotionally and have been out before. It's more about having a few more things as I don't wish to go outonly half way. I need some accessories and a wig and a comfortable pair of shoes also a waist cincher and hip/butt enhancer would be helpful. I am close to being ready though.

Nothing beats a great pair of Legg's. Cake and tea or death!

Hi Tina,
I'm a bit late, but welcome to the forum. You'll find sisters here who can definitely relate to what you're going through.
Glad you've found someone who'll accept you for who you are.
Hugs,
K

Good morning Jacqueline!
You can PM Silverlady and she'll change your name on the forum. (If you didn't already)
I've read how your SO says you don't look like a Tina, that you're more sophisticated than that.
It reminded me of an outing to a mall a few months back. I went with a group of friends which included the mother of a young TS. I was shopping for a pair of casual heels. Nothing flashy, just a nice low heel shoe. Well, we'd almost exhausted ourselves looking in every shoe store there. I had pictured in my mind what I wanted, but just couldn't seem to find it. Finally, the last store we checked had (on the discontinued rack, no less!) exactly what I was looking for. I was so happy. The mother of the young TS and I were talking outside the store afterwards, and she told me I reminded her of Katharine Hepburn.
Katharine Hepburn?!
I didn't quite understand why she said this, so I asked. She said it was because I had class. "Elegance with a hint of sophistication." I believe those were her exact words. I stood there stunned. Never before have I had such a compliment. After all, me...sophisticated? I felt as you did. But the more I contemplated her statement, the more I realized there may be some truth in what she said. Needless to say, I was giddy the rest of the day. It was like riding a natural high all afternoon.
I wanted to share this with you, because it shows how others perceive our fem side. A side that we usually hide from the rest of the world. I certainly never thought of myself in that light, yet this woman I met only a few hours before did.
I'm glad you changed your name to something more befitting your personnae. Have fun at tea time and let us know how it goes.
Hugs,
Kyra
