Hello all: Sometimes I describe the experience of CDing as a "natural high."
Going out "dressed" can be like a vacation without taking a long, expensive trip.
But if I'm worried about a lot of things, have a lot of "stuff" to deal with, a lot of deadlines, "dressing" doesn't help, because of the effort involved.
I had an interesting experience last weekend. A free arts exhibit opened up in Arlington, VA and vistors were encouraged to come in costume. (This same event had previously taken place closer to Halloween, and the opening night generally inmcluded a costume party).
Naturally I went in one of my finest cheerleader outfits and a colleague from the music world saw me "dressed" for the first time. He'd probably seen photos, but had never seen me in person "dressed" before. He commented that I seemed "happier" than usual. Hm...
OK-- that's not really "on topic," but I did want to mention it.
Has anyone else received comments from friends which indicate that "we" behave differently when "dressed?"
No other comments for now.
Peace-- Kendra Lynn.
