Are we insane?

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Hi all,

Elizabeth,

I'm guessing that you're not as confused as you think you are. To wit,

Exhibit A: I still don't understand what it means to have gender dysphoria.
Exhibit B: I am clearly a genetic male who feels like he should have been a genetic female.

That is what it means to have Gender Dysphoria. What you (and the world at large) make of it is entirely arbitrary, seems to me.

Kersten,

So glad to see you here. I hope you understand just how much of a survivor you are. You are resilient. And you are loved.

Love,
CJ

Welcome back Kersten!!! :)
*-*

Elizabeth, in my opinion you should be talking gender therapist about your feelings. You are no longer wearing woman's clothing as a CD'r you identify as a woman. (and this might be another topic in the Off Topic -Non-CDing area, to make sure this topic stays on topic). CJ can give so much advice, but you should really be talking to someone about what you're going through.

Not wanting to go off-topic, either, but I just wanted to say...

Hi Kersten!
We missed you! So glad you're doing better.

Am I insane? Maybe crazy? A pervert? Gay(no)? Honestly I don't really know exactly what you would call me or what I am. GID or what. Or maybe it is just the fact I enjoy it when I am dressed as a female. It feels right, natural. But I still feel fine being male at other times. Maybe it is 50/50,a blending of both genders that make me who I am. Besides all that,I am glad I have found this site and that I am not alone in all this. That there are others like me and we are all in the same boat. I find comfort in reading and being here. That helps me at times that I feel the need to converse with others that understand. =D> .

Valerie,
I do not pretend to know where you are in you "Magical Mystery Tour," but I would (if you have not) expand your sphere of influence out side this forum as well. There are some tremendously educational sites about "us," around the web. www.priory.com/psych/disparat.htm 12 pages by Katherine K. Wilson
"Transgender Cafe" www. mts.net/wtsg/development.htm (14 pages)
www.transgenderedsoul.com by Dr. Rachael St.Claire
www.annelawrence.com/psychindex.html (this is an additional sources of resources)
Good luck and love, nuture and enjoy your gift!

Especially *NICE* to CU Kersten Lee

Yes, it really is me, still alive and kicking.

The point I want to make is, that a truly insane person could believe he is sane. He may even convince others that he is sane. If we as cross-dressers look outside ourselves for justification of our being or self-esteem we can easily feel insane. The reallity is that we can only find truth, self-esteem and justification for our being from within ourselves. From this, all healthy and well adjusted people could be considered insane by their self-confidence and single minded resolve.

Elizabeth you are well and I will be.

Respectfully,
Kersten

Your msg is very important to me especially
- I can explain more at your convenience if you wish ...

4 now, allow me to suggest that "You *Are* Well" !
- you may feel a wee bit tired and grogged out, sluggish etc, but I can tell from the clarity of your msg that your 'wheels' are turning just fine and in the appropriate direction
- just *don't quit on me now* !!!

Elizabeth wrote:... I wonder if I have gone insane. I don't mean recently... I was not gay, I was not a prostitute, I was not a female impersonator, I did not consider my behavior to be part of a sexual urge. It seemed I had gone mad. For reasons that are absolutely unclear to me, I really had a need to crossdress ...

... I finally decided to confront all of this, and came here ... I found others like me ... It made me feel totally validated ...

Until if dawned on me. What if? What if everyone here is having the same dillusions as me and we are validating each other in our desperate need to fit in somewhere. Kind of a "you scratch my back and I will scratch yours", type of thing ...

Love always,

Hi Elizabeth,

I'm glad to make it back and find you still here and being you ... you have written quite a lot, and from what I can see, I have a lot of catching up to do ... it's also interesting to see indications that you have experienced some serious trauma and (again?) overcome the obstacles ...

I think you must represent some sort of example to thousands (millions?) of others (CDs & similar sorts) whose courage is still in earlier stages of testing ...

I'll be backtracking your posts and threads for the next while as well as those of many others here to see just how you and everyone else has been doing ...

It was really good to have some    here as well ...
and while we all can have a laugh about our sanity, we also understand that we're dealing with some pretty serious stuff here ...

Thanx for being so brave in the way you often lead our charge for understanding and (self)acceptance =D>

isn't asking this question here sort of like bringing coals to newcastle....I'll get to trying to decipher what I mean after I finish attempting to understand all the other heavy stuff.

I took the test and I'm at the 40 percent level, still living and looking. That's OK by me!
Luv to all,

Jeffrey Dahlmer was insane, Adolf Hitler was insane, George Bush is insane.OOOPS. Did I say that! Please don't put us in the same group. We are are just dfifferant and most people can't understand us.
This is for you Virginia as pertaining to Lawyers. Think about the last twenty years. What are the worst things in this society? Drug dealers, muderers an child molesters, right? A lawyer gets John DeLorean off for drug dealing, OJ walks for brutally murdering two human beings and Michael Jackson goes free for molesting young boys. But who do they put in jail? Martha Stuart! Life is insane! She did what each of us would of done.
If any one of us had $65,000 in a stock and our broker called us and said"I have some inside information and your stock will drop like a rock tommorow" What would we all do? SELL! They had ankle bracelets on her for six months after release from prison. What would she have done? Home invasion and make you redecorate your living room? Life is crazy. Enjoy who you are if you're hurting no one else. Laywers are the bottom of the food chain. As they used to say in the Coast Guard lower than whale excrement which is on the bottom of the ocean.
I'll leave you all with one lawyer joke. A partner in a law firm walks into another partners office and says "Are you sleeping with the new secretary? He says"No". He then replies"Then you fire her" Big hugs

Love
Jeannie

PS Viriginia, when that lawyer said that to you you should of done some deadlifts with him! Better yet a clean and jerk and dropped him like a rock! Love you!
