Hi all

Halloween is always a great time to get out and have fun and this year was no exception. =D>

OK, seeing as I'm probably the last person to use the gallery on here, I've added a couple of pics from halloween this year. As Kendra said, "She" is upbeat, cute, colorful-- now I say-- who wouldn't like that? ...so who am I to argue? One of my favourite costumes getting its first outing.

Cheerleaders Unite!

Post by Kendra Lynn »

And the Halloween saga continues...
The cheer squad on this forum now numbers at least two (that I know of)... Stephanie what does the logo on your cheer top say?
I WILL have to figure out how to post photos here (and for those of us who are technologically challenged, these procedures are NOT obvious or easy...)
I have been celebrating (observing?) Halloween for over a week...
First there was the High Heel Race. (see above).

Then on Saturday the 28th, I attended a Halloween party in downtown Silver Spring at THE RODEO restaurant. Good Latin/Mexican food.Went as what a Robert E. Peary High School cheerleader might look like now-- navy blue letter sweater with white stripes down the arms; navy blue kick pleat skirt with white inserts. Won the costume contest-- my prize was... a majorette trophy!! Of course that was cool, and so was the entertainment: a bellydancer, insrumental surf band, and a rockabilly band. Any rockabilly fans out there should check out J.P. McDermott & Western Bop.

Sunday night I attended a Halloween benefit for a local progressive candidate running for the state legislature. Similar outfit. No costume contest for the adults. Darn!! But... I did run into a Peary High School alumna who saw the outfit and asked if I was a Peary High School grad. Got a kick out of that.

Halloween day itself: A whole day "en femme" which even included a brief shopping excursion. Started off as hippie/preppie girl with a long-ish wig, white cord jacket, pink peter pan collar blouse, short denim box pleat skirt, white socks, beige ankle length hiking boots. Went to get film developed and... visited BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY!! (and even bought two really cute jackets!) Also went to AMERICAN APPAREL where one of the female clerks was dressed as a HOGWARTS (Harry Potter) student. After that went home and changed into a cheerleader outfit for an afternoon office party, where the world's hippest cheerleader met Elvis Costello, Pippi Longstocking, a pirate, cosmic nature spirit, and a marathon runner!

After that, came back home and changed into my SUNNYDALE HIGH SCHOOL (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) cheer outfit.-- a smashing maroon and gold ensemble. Wore a denim jacket over that. The evening adventure
involved getting on METRO and going down to the D.C. TOWER RECORDS store (I am VERY SORRY that TOWER RECORDS will be no more, but that's another story for another time) and then enjoying the human spectacle parading around Georgetown. I met "BATMAN" and a sexy "BATWOMAN!!"
At all of these places, there were at least several people who asked for a photo of me or wanted a photo with me! I always enjoy that.

The last Halloween 2006 observance: There is a woman in Takoma Park who for the past 5 years has turned her house into a miniature theater for Halloween, with amateur actors playing historical and fictional roles.I finally got there this year on Nov. 4 and was not disappointed. The pieces performed included excerpts from TITANIC, TALE OF TWO CITIES, THE RAVEN, and more. I ran into folks I knew standing in line, and several of the "actors" I knew from other situations. Hung around for the "cast party"
afterwards and wound up staying for 2 hours! While waiting in line before the show, I ran into another RPHS alum!! (whose sister had been in my homeroom for 3 years).

My typing finger is getting tired, so I'll just finish off by saying I had a great time and really get a kick out of doing the "cheerleader." As a music journalist, I write ABOUT what other people do. When I put on my cheer outfits, I'm "doing it" and there IS a difference! I have made a few tentative steps in performing, and the energy between you the performer and the audience is a real rush!

Peace'n'Luv to all-- Kendra Lynn.

The top part of the logo says "Stephaniegirl" just above the "W" and "University". If you check out this link to my first post here, the last paragraph will tell you where my name came from. http://crossdressers-haven.com/forums/v ... ght=#61789

The "W" stands for my last name of Williams and all parts of the logo were designed and made by myself.

The results of the store's Halloween costume contest were posted today. I took first place!

Many of my GG coworkers said I looked great! Several coworkers that saw me on Halloween said it took them a while to realize who the new girl was. A lot of those that only saw my photo didn't recognize me until someone else told them which photo was mine. One said she voted for me because it takes a lot of guts for a man to dress as a woman. Others said that several customers also said I looked good. According to one coworker a customer asked if I always dressed like that? If only it were so. Anyway, a lot of positive comments which sure helps my self confidence.

From the comments I've received, maybe crossdressing in this town isn't as looked down upon as I'd thought. Well, at least for Halloween, anyway.
Perhaps I'll try some femme jeans and tops that aren't too feminine outside of Halloween. Also, I think I'll try a full femme outing one of these days; perhaps a movie.

As soon as I can get a copy of my contest photo, I'll post it.

Love ya!

Alana - Congratulations on winning 1st Place in the contest, but more importantly, you took 1st place for doing something that is an integral part of who you are. I'm looking forward to seeing your new photo!!

Going out dressed to the movies is great. Virginia and I went out to the movies twice this weekend and she blended right in with the crowd. Do tell us about your movie outing *when* you do it!!

Another Halloween photo. Not a great photo, but at least I'm smiling in this one.

Hi all,

I have a copy of my Halloween photo. Will post it when I figure out how come my scanner isn't working and can get it scanned.

Last night one of my co-workers asked if I have decided how I'll dress for Halloween this year, it's coming up fast you know. I told her I had been thinking about it, some, but, didn't know what to do to beat last year. She then suggested I dress as a ballerina. I countered with a salsa dress, but then added that if I dress as a woman every year, people are going to start wondering about me. She doesn't know I'm a crossdresser.

I'm not quite ready to dress femme every Halloween, although it's a nice thought.

By the way, the woman that asked, tried to give me a wolf whistle last Halloween. She couldn't do it so she got another co-worker to do it for her.

Apparently I have more supporters for femme Halloween costumes than I would have supposed. Its fun getting such suggestions, even if I don't act on them.

Love,
Alana
