Wood (laminated) floors On a cold day, tile is too cold for my feet in tights!

For the turning the lights on and off, prefer using:

Simple on/off switch or an adjustable dimmer knob/control?

Handles, but they'd better be well designed! (It's harder to design an annoying knob, but great knobs just aren't as elegant as great handles.)

Crown moulding, please. I often find dado rails too visually distracting for my taste - they tend to chop a space up into, er, smaller spaces.
