California Wedding

Post by Virginia »

Well the time is growing nigh!

My two best girlfriends that are going to California in a couple of weeks to get married in Yosemite National Park are getting more and more excited about it and me being, what is the term?? "vetted?" to act as the best man and the stand in father to give the bride away, I too am getting excited about it as well. And no I will be en drab, at their request -- its a long story but I am so happy for them that I tear up almost every time I think about it!

I know how much SL's and my "Commitment Ceremony" meant to us in Vegas, of course it was between Virginia and SL and that made it that much more beautiful!!!

One of the girl's father kind of lectured her about "the wedding" thing as he put it. He is OK with his daughter being in a lesbian relationship but he can't get his mind around a wedding ceremony, but then again he is 72 years old and is "old school," and no he won't be attending as will not my best friend's father, of course he has several justifiable reasons so I will go in his stead!

They want me to "say a few words" also and I clarified with them "yes, it has to be serious" and not too long! Well I am working on that now too! I just hope I can express my love for them without tearing up and balling like a baby as I am want to do in situations like this!

This is going to be soooo much fun!!

Love you all!

Congratulations Virginia! Yosemite is one of the most beautiful places I've been, I go every summer. Its truly awe inspiring and making wedding vows there will be a moving experience, I'm sure! Have a great time. Do you know where in the park the ceremony will be performed?

It sounds like a wonderful honor. Being invited to attend a wedding en femme would be right up there on the "I've really been accepted by someone I care about" scale. Have a great time, and let us know how it all goes over. Something tells me that if anyone would know how to throw a wedding, it would be a lesbian couple. (Okay, I think my wedding was fabulous but then I like to think my feminine instincts put me at an advantage over the average genetic male.)
