Not really although I do not dress much in the summer, both because my family is home during the day and it's just too hot. So the desire resurfaces in the fall.
I do get lots of other yearnings in the fall. It's such a beautiful time of year, makes me so happy, that it gives me a feeling of life and a desire to act on that feeling.

Hi Wendae,
I don't know if this rings any bell for you, but I've noticed times of feeling emotionally torn or vulnerable are times when dressing is particularly helpful, fun, and healing.
I have also noticed fall is a time when my neediness and alertness both rise. I believe for me there is a sadness, nostalgia, whatever, that comes with the visible, tangible, sniffable dying of the year toward winter.
So to me it's quite natural that it all adds up to a fresh, strong desire to dress as fall comes on.
Also as mentioned above, when the hot weather breaks there are so many nice outfits in the closet you couldn't wear all summer.
On the other hand with spring coming right now, and summer to follow, I'm looking forward to a time when getting dressed doesn't have to mean keeping warm! In other words, getting out of my winter dresses and into light, airy summery stuff.
So I also agree with Sandra Jane: I look forward with urgency and delight to whatever I'm putting on today and tomorrow, regardless of the season.
There, how's that for waffling around all sides of the answer?
Love, Robyn Katie

I underdress everyday (panties, bra, cami) but find that by quiting time on Friday, I have a large urge to strip my drab outer clothing and go all fem. I usually go fem at least one of the two weekend days. Usually it is the Saturday as was this last weekend, but next weekend it will be Sunday. Next sunday is my Tri-Ess board meeting and Saturday is Amatuer Radio function.

I agree with you, Robyn Katie. I returned to dressing last year after not having done so for a few years because I found myself in an unbelievable pressure cooker. My department was slashed at work (and several promises to replace people were broken) and both of my elderly in-laws became totally dependent on my wife and me. When I found myself alone at home (usually when I was working from home), I found my urge to dress became more like desperation. Immersing myself in femininity, I felt the stress just floating away from me.
I thought it would be temporary, but it hasn't been. My stash of femme items is growing - not just lingerie, but a skirt and top here, a dress there, and now I'm up to four pairs of shoes (two heels, two flats). In January my boss retired, and I've been doing his job ever since (no official promotion, yet; I've been promised, but I won't believe it until it happens). I'm wearing panties under my drab clothes more often, now, too, which I never did much before.

I'm not that kind of girl.

Urge to dress
Hello all: The "urge" definitely comes if I haven't dressed for say, several weeks.
Fall and spring are the best times for me to "dress," simply because the weather is most comfortable then. Winter can be ok too, since I now have plenty of boots, jeans, and warm jackets and coats.
Summer is the worst time; I don't even go outside in "drab" during the hottest and most humid days, unless it's absolutely necessary. There is generally a period during the summer of at least several weeks when I do not "dress" due to the hot weather.
I'll also get the "urge" on a nice fall or spring day, when I just want to put on a nice/new outfit, play "girl," and go out! I'm lucky that some of the staff at the camera store I generally patronize are also willing to take photos of me (if the store isn't crowded).
Happy belated ST PAT'S DAY to everyone!
Peace-- Kendra Lynn ("hippie cheerleader").

Hi girls,
It seems my strongest urge is in the summer, fall, winter and spring. Especially during the day or at night. Almost five years ago I decided to dress like a girl until I got bored with it or just didn't feel it anymore. So far there has not been a time when dressing like a man seemed to be a good idea.
But the urge itself I do not believe is any different.
Love always,
Elizabeth

Kendra Lynn's post struck a chord with me as I have friends and family that live in the DC area. Summer is miserable there. Some countries offer their diplomats hardship pay to work in DC in the summer due to the weather. And yet I get very discontented when I can't be outside or at least have the windows open. Winter is different-you can always put on more clothes. There is a limit to what you can take off however.
Sometimes I really regret air conditioning. When I was a kid very few people had it and it seemed that by mid summer I was used to the heat.

It's October and the urge is back with a vengence! Guess that's obvious from my posts about shopping this last week. I suspect it relates to the fact that I'm not able to dress when I need to and have to supress it as best I can. This time of the year is really rough for me. Tougher now that I have all these new clothes and no immediate oppertunity visible on the horizon to enjoy them. Maybe I can run away from home.
