Natural nails a question.

Post by Cindy Louise »

Hello everyone,

Since I've been letting my nails grow out I've noticed two things, they can be a real pain to type with  bad Cindy must behave! But seriously now the nails on my left hand grow much faster than those of my dominant right hand. Is this normal? I pretty much have to file and shape my left hand once a month to allow my right hand to catch up.

Love to all CL.

Cindy,

I expect your left hand nails appear to grow longer faster simply because you are using you left hand less than your right. I too leave my nails to grow but my advice to you is to type with the pad at the tip of your fingers rather then trying to use the nail

Regards
Susan

I know some things.

Hi Susan,

I've tried using the pads instead of my nail tips but because I'm using a netbook with a teeny tiny 7" screen and a correspondingly small key board it's impossible as the nail tip as it hits the key above.

I do have a Toshiba laptop but I prefer this one to post here as it's easier to hide the screen in case my wife comes in. She doesn't know I'm a member here.

Love CL

It's basically impossible to type on that keyboard with anything but your fingernails, if you let them grow. I have one of those netbooks too, but I have a fair share of problems with larger keyboards as soon as my fingernails grow past the tip of my fingers. As working with computers is basically my job, long fingernails are out of the question for me, unfortunately :(

Susan is on to something with this theory that using the dominant hand more wears your fingernails down faster. I'm right handed, and the nails on my right hand do seem to be growing slower than the ones on my left hand.
