Question re Fenugreek

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Question re Fenugreek

Post by Pat »

I would like to ask if anyone has used Fenugreek as a tea, sprouts or ground
over say 12 months plus, and what were the results, if any.

I have been using it daily over the last couple of months, and plan to continue for the next 12 months to see what the results are.
I would be happy to receive any PM,s on this subject. ***huh*** ***huh***
Keeping them cupped comfortably.

I once used fenugreek for pineapple and mango pickles; the resul was one of my biggest failures in the kitchen, but I doubt it could be because of the fenugreek.
I don't know what effects it's supposed to have :P

I found the following line on the web which is probably of interest. It is recommended to help breast feeding women produce more milk. It is also used for cattle. It warned of unpleasant side effects.

"The benefits of fenugreek in breastfeeding are believed to stem from diosgenin, a compound that is similar to the female hormone estrogen."

Pat,

Claims are made on various feminization websites that fenugreek enhances feminization in general and breast growth in particular. I have not been able to find out whether there is any truth to it.

In general the claims are anecdotal. I would not be surprised to find that its effects are mild to nil, despite its being an estrogen source.

Similar breast enhancement claims are made for sesame seeds, dill seeds, licorice root, basil flowers and anise seeds, not to mention tea, red wine, brown ale, roasted peanuts and instant coffee. All have phytoestrogens ... but then so do bean sprouts and a thousand other things.

Saw palmetto is frequently mentioned as a breast enhancer (it's also somewhat more reliably reported to be a specific for enlarged prostate). I happen to be taking saw palmetto at the moment, so we'll see about that.

Most notably, strong breast enlargement claims are made for Kwao Krua (Pueraria Mirifica). Anecdotally (again) it is supposed to have been used by tribeswomen to increase breast size.

If there's any real virtue in any of these herbs and supplements, I have found no solid evidence of it. I would like to! but no luck so far.

And with fenugreek, as with all the rest, I advise you carefully consider side effects.

The whole field is crying out for some solid scientific testing.

Susan,
Everybody knows that if you live in England you cannot buy the Brooklyn bridge, it is only available to US citizens. Besides I have already made that purchase.
It is really hard not to want to try the herb route and I have been using saw-palmetto along with black-cohosh for awhile and I could not tell you with any certainty it does or does not work. Seems that there may be the tiniest change and I do feel, again very subjective, that there is added sensitivity; let's face it that could be from just wishing it to happen. It is amazing that with all of the studies, there really is not any yes/no results with herbs, just a lot of people wanting to take some of us girls hard earned money. Guess that if it makes you feel any better and you can afford it. For me it seems that the more that I search for some outward help along the rocky road when I look back or have a moment of clarity, please no laughter that I may have clarity, the true answers always seem to me within how I feel about myself. So should any one fine the one that works of course I will buy it! LOL
Warm Regards,
Jamie

Pushups seem to make my boobs bigger. I think marijuana did also back in the day. Thyroid disease may have played it's part as well, although I don't recommend that to anyone if they can possibly avoid it.

In a book called "The New Girl", a journalist decided to try a version of "Black Like Me" but with him becoming a girl and trying to find a job and learn about interactions between women. Falls short of it's mark, but is interesting.

In his preparations, which took over a year, he took large quantities of Black Cohosh under a Doctor's supervision. The results were slight breast growth, relocation of some body fat, and skin softening. If I recall correctly, he may have had laser on his face hair, but I am not certain since it has been awhile since I looked at the book.

This is the only monitored study (to any degree) where the effects of a estrogen like herb was used for feminization. It should be reiterated that the amount of the herb that was needed for even slight feminization was many times the recommended dose.

There are a number of anecdotal claims on the net about the effectiveness of the herbs. One is at Sissify.com (I think that is the spelling) which you might find interesting, though it is kinda of a femme/dom sort of thing. To me it sounds like a place to play act, though there is some information about hormones and effects that seems accurate.

As always, be careful of anything that has not undergone testing for side effects. I am fairly confident that the use of herbals in the quantities the manufacture recommends are reasonably safe (barring allergic reactions) the quantities as very limited. Might as well be consuming lots of soy for it's estrogenic effects.

Hi Carolynn,

I like others of us perhaps, found it difficult to imagine that a sissifying website could have anything helpful to say about hormones. I was wrong.

The reference you gave to www.sissify.com is a goldmine, packed with relatively reliable information. The author has done careful and significant work in digging up what there is to be known about a very long list of natural hormonal substances and feminization, including a few scientific studies. She is very responsible, too, about cautions and straight reporting.

Anyone interested in hormone information that is as reliable as it gets (on the web at least) should consult this site.

Thanks! As usual, you've come up with a gem.

With gratitude, Robyn Katie

Correction, everyone: there ought to be a capital letter in that url I cited above:

www.Sissify.com

The hormonal discussion is in a huge section with the url

http://www.Sissify.com/juice/
