Hi Administrators and Site Owners,
After almost three months [correction, it's actually 4.5 months and counting - SL] of not allowing new memberships, the forum is indeed dying off. We are no longer a sanctuary. We can't carry out our mission if people are not allowed to join. Maybe that is the idea?
I know that phpBB is not all that hard to run and it should not take three months to make a decision to upgrade it. As of right now, there is nothing on the table. As far as what I can tell anyone, I can't tell them to come here, because we are now a closed membership. If one is lucky enough to be a member, great, but if not, too bad.
I know this problem can be solved and it should be solved. Switch to Vbulletin, this is not the only free software. Two new posts in the last 24 hours seems pathetically low and it seems people have stopped coming here because they know there won't be anything new. Because we don't have any new members.
I apologize if this seems brash, but to me three months is not temporary, it's permanent, especially when know one can say when or if ever we will again allow new members.
Love always,
Elizabeth

Hi, Elizabeth -
I remind everyone that this topic has been previously asked, and answered: http://crossdressers-haven.com/forums/v ... hp?t=13467
Specifically, I direct everyones attention to my response in that thread, here: http://crossdressers-haven.com/forums/v ... 050#143050
That being said . . .
No apologies needed, Elizabeth; I understand your concerns, and agree with them. However, we are waiting on Sharon to take action. She knows what she needs to do to keep this forum up and running - upgrading to the phpBB3 software - and she has indicated that she will do so in the future. As a reminder, Elizabeth, the Admin/Mods have previously discussed this topic, too; the answer remains the same.
I remind everyone that, as I have stated in my post at the link, above . . . Sharon does have by far more important things going on in her life right now and those are taking precedence over this forum . . . and rightly so, IMHO.
The decision has been made that until such time that the upgrade is accomplished, this forum will remain closed to all new registrations . . . dealing with 70-100 spambot registrations on a daily basis (which at first appear legit by proposed user name, only), with maybe 1-3 truly legitimate registrations mixed in the bunch, is not an option.
