Face care :)

Post by Emma H. »

Hello ^_^

I've been using cleanser, scrub, toner, and moisturiser. Some of my products work, sometimes they don't.. My products are:

Laneige Multi-Cleanser (my face feels squeaky afterwards..)
St. Ive's Apricot Scrub: Blackhead control (I do have blackheads on the bridge of my nose, but this doesn't clear it. In fact, this scrub only works on my cheekbones and near the sides of my nose, but everywhere else, is barely affected by it.)
Neutrogena Alcohol-Free toner (I can't really say much on this one, but it doesn't really work, I think. To me, it really just seems like one of those things that can be skipped. That's how ineffective I think it is.)
Victoria's Secret Pure Seduction Hand and body Lotion (Not sure if this could actually be considered a moisturiser, but after smelling it, I couldn't help myself, so I used it as a moisturiser.)

And after using these, my face doesn't look clear, and foundation still looks chalky. There appears to still be dead skin. So do you know what I'm doing wrong? Is stubborn a skin type?? Haha. Thanks a ton :)

Hi. I am by no means a "pretty" person but thought I would share with you. I was in a major department store and just went for the gusto and stopped at a Lady selling "Clinique" I asked if she could help with my skin.
She was wonderful! She scrubbed my face and applied some products
all the while making me feel very at ease. Now the kicker to this is I was
in complete male mode and just paid no attention to the (Thousands-hehe)of shoppers walking by cause we were on the aisle. Bottom line is I now have a better idea what to do to my skin and a person I am not afraid to ask questions.

Hey Emma!

I keep it simple - wash with water and a flannel - anti- bacterial facewash. Moisturise and protect your skin from the sun (SPF25+). Don't use anything with perfume in it. When you wet shave, keep the water as cold as you can stand! And thats about it!

Once or twice a month I'll put a face masque on - Queen Helene mud Pack Masque is just great and not expensive considering how long a jar lasts!

One other thing I do is make sure I always sleep on a silk pillowcase! I knew a model once that told me this was pretty much standard advise in her industry!

My mom taught me to always remove makeup at night, scrub with a cloth, soap and water, follow with a little OJ's Beauty Lotion (base is witch hazel, which will do) on cotton, and then apply a small amount of Oil of Olay as a moisturizer, rubbing it in well. Generic Oil of Olay lookalikes are cheap and plentiful, BTW. In my adult years I've stayed close to this, often substituting a loofa or a net scrub for the washcloth. Do the same before putting on war paint in the morning. Seems to work for me.
I'm a girl with minor additions ^^_||
