I choose to enjoy dressing. This time of year on the Gulf Coast it is mainly cool. That means under dressing is quite comfortable at work. All week I have worn silky panties and thigh tops. Yesterday though the Hanes silk reflections tore, and laddered and by the time I got home my big toe was sticking out on the right foot, and on the left the entire sole had torn.

Love me these soft sheer hose...but they are in the trash. I wore Leggs Sheer Energies...nice, but not as soft. Hmmm, I think I have another pair of the Hanes in my lingerie drawer.

Or I might switch to garter belt and genuine stockings...the non stretchy type...lovely.

Oh, how to cope with ladders?

Hmmm, might be chilly riding my motorcycle tomorrow...a good pair of Danskin tights helps that issue...warm and snug.

Nice thick tights give a great extra layer of warmth when needed, like on a bike, or when working outdoors. I learnt the trick from a Police Motorcyclist!

Yes the Danskins are very warm. I wore them a couple months ago on a very long ride to the edge of the TEXAS hill country to access the curves and hills: over 200 miles round trip and temps of around 60F at average 70 mph = chilly.

And, I just love glossy cheerleader tights!

I keep my hose with runs for wearing under jeans in cold weather. sheer pantyhose are great for things like yard work or cross country skiing in the cold. Comfy, not too hot, not too cold.

runs in PH are always a major annoyance. I find that keeping my nails well filed and smooth reduces the occurrence of them. And getting the reinforced toe helps a lot, except that you can't wear them with open toe shoes. Another thing I've tried are the little nylon toe protectors, that basically add a layer of reinforcement at the toe, but again not with open toe shoes.
But I've pretty much accepted that panty hose will only last a few wearings, so I save them for when I'm wearing a nice evening dress or skirt and I usually buy the expensive brands because they look so much better. For everyday wear I go with tights, they just hold up better and there are some really cute styles and patterns. They can really dress up an otherwise plain outfit and I have as much fun shopping for tights to go with my skirts as I do for other clothes. In winter I like the sweater tights, with a sweater dress and boots of course.
And of course I love the stockings with a garter belt for those special events.

Consider support PH, when you can find them with support all the way down the legs, not just the panty part. They may be a compromise between tights and those lovely sheer pantyhose.

Oooooo I hate runners! Like some, I do keep them to wear under jeans etc. But when they get too bad, I painfully have to toss them. As far as wearing them for cold weather, nylon (as in pantyhose/nylons) is not the best choice. I've received a lot of outdoor advice that recommends against them. During a cross county ski class, the instructor emphasized multiple times to NOT wear pantyhose or knee-highs. As for under hunting clothing, I'll pass. I always wear wool based long underwear, or now, one of the new "super materials". Something like UnderArmor etc.

With that being said, I do like microfiber tights during cold weather. I usually do that when on shopping expeditions with the wife or some other outside activity we're doing. They not only feel and look great, but they do seem to provide some extra insulation/warmth.

I haven't heard anyone mention nail polish yet. If you can catch the snag early enough, you can save the hose. Any time the run isn't showing and it's not so bad like your whole toe sticking through, you can use nail polish to stop the run.

I keep a bottle of clear at the office. I use it to fix a chip or split on my nail until I can get home and fix it right. I also use it on my pantyhose like other women. It happens that the girls in the office that know, have borrowed my polish to fix their runs as well.

Runners are the big reason I haven't bought any Wolford nylons, supposedly the cats meow in pantyhose. Consumer Digest did a pantyhose test which can be seen online, and Wolfords being the most expensive ran the easiest! $50 buys a lot of other pantyhose.
