First time out tomorrow En Femme
Hi Ladies,
Well going out in public tomorrow for the first time (I hope)...will be 50 miles from home so should have anonymity. Thought I'd walk the mall and maybe go to a bar for lunch that I think may be friendly as it's a Gay bar that I heard CD'ers sometimes go to. What are some of the good and bad things to expect? Advice on how to handle the bad stuff that may come up?
Thanks Ladies!!

Yahoo!!! your goanna have a blast. Here are my tips.
Think flying under the radar while picking out your outfit and doing make up. Don't be droll, don't dress to be noticed, but be elegant - a lady. Relax.
Keep your head up. Take in the world. Don't be afraid of making eye contact. Practice giving the "you perve smile". It is powerful. It has always worked for me. Use it and relax.
Remember that service people, ie wait staff, hostess, bartenders, sales clerks, are your best friends; they are like that because your money is good, and the trail blazers in front of you were friendly and good tippers. If you can present as well as your pictures suggest, then you're only real issue is when you talk. But you'll mostly be talking to people that are happy that you are there. Relax.
Having said that, just know you will be read as some point. Big deal. Get over it in advance. Relax. Cross dressing is like baseball. A good hitter is only right 3 out of 10 times. A great hitter deals gracefully with the 7 and uses those failures for improvement. Just relax.
I don't get out that much (and it has been a loooong time), but it so happens I'm stepping out tomorrow as well. Can't wait to compare notes on Sunday.
Have fun, and remember - RELAX.
Kelly.

Have fun and don't worry!!!
I go out all the time and have had no trouble ever to speak of. Some people will look at you funny, a few teenagers may snicker, but mostly nobody will care. If you're at the mall or other well populated public place nobody will say anything.
And most importantly, remember to tell us all about it

Babbs, it's all in your head.
Just remember you are a women don't hide behind being afraid, just be yourself walk slow hold your head up and if you make eye contact just smile. I run into women all the time at Wal Mart shopping for grocery and all I do is a big smile and just say sorry.
As said before after the first time out it's easy after that, being read is part of the game don't let it get you down as most people ( women) could care less and men never take a second look as the wife may kill them
Big tip from me go out around the time people are getting off work as they are in to much of a hurry to pay any attention to anyone.

Re: First time out tomorrow En Femme
OMG Ladies!! I did it! Pics to follow soon (for proof, lol haha). Was Mostly driving in my car, then walked around a downtown district of a decent sized city in NH. Walking the streets I felt soooo good! Kept checking my look in store windows as I passed...pretty cute and femme if I do say so myself, lol. Got a little nervous in a somewhat deserted area and saw some teenagers coming my way. Wanted no confrontation so just reversed direction and went back to my car. Went to a pub for a drink at 4:00. ( I chose a gay bar figuring they would be more accepting and I was right). The bartender comes to me and says " and what can I get the pretty lady?" I blushed and ordered a beer. Read my book for a while, ate some apps and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Asked the bartender to take some pics of me as it was my first time out "dressed" and I wanted to show the girls. Well that's it, can't wait to do it again. Dressed casual, leggings w/ boots with a 3 inch heal, black top and a long beige sweater. And a cute little scarf....Went out as a Red Head too.

Proud of you! Glad you enjoyed yourself.
Next time, and the time after that, etc. will be all the more easier.
Tell me though, just how many 'decent sized cities' are in NH?
Kelly.

Re: First time out tomorrow En Femme
Hello Ladies! I went out again yesterday! This could be habit forming! lol Did a few more normal things than the first time, pumped gas, bought stuff at a convenience store had lunch out. What do you ladies do about your voice. I had to talk more yesterday and was conflicted at times. Go with femme voice or just my usaual voice which is far from femme? Help!
