shopping trip
Today I had a great day shopping for thigh highs. Drove to the mall and it was around lunchtime. So I went into JCPenney and went over to the thigh high and pantyhose section. Looked through them and chose a natural colored lace top set. I went to pay for them with a male clerk. That was different and nothing was said about it. I then drove home and put them on over my shaved legs. Wow, what a sensation. They really do make me feel so good. Smooth legs and thigh highs are fantastic.

Re: shopping trip
Good for you, Andrea! Buying a feminine item just for yourself shouldn't be nerve wracking. Lots of men buy things for their wives, besides, nobody cares.
Yes, it does feel good!

Re: shopping trip
I don't know why it is but hosiery of any kind over shaved legs just feels so much better. I am beginning to think that the clerks, at least the ones who have been at it for awhile, in the larger metropoliltin areas have pretty much seen it all and nothing phases them so a guy buying hose is nothing to them.
I do remember being a Sears store not so long ago with my wife, we picked out some panties for me and I was also getting some new thigh highs. The better half told me the stuff was for me I had to pay it so away we went to a cashier, the first one I see at one of counters is in the mens ware. I go up to him and lay the things on the counter, he gives this really odd look then tells me I should to shoes and let them check me out. The person behind me in line says that was kinda rude but away I went to the other counter where the girl happily waited on me and told me to enjoy my purchaes.

Re: shopping trip
Rude was an understatement. Any Sears cash register can ring up any item. That said, if there was a question of price like a bad sticker etc, then the local dept register is likely to have a person who knows what the price should be or is able to go find a correctly marked one quicker.
That cashier could have very well had a problem with you, but he didn't do so bad handling it with you. Again that said, had you insisted, which I might have done, then he would have learned my money trumps his problem. If he caught me on a bad day or the incident hit my "pissed off" button, then I might have escalated the issue and again money tends to win.
On a good note, congrats for an overall good shopping trip and I agree with the better half; you needed to my the buy.

Re: shopping trip
I'd say, it was rude!
I've never run into that sort of behavior before. Maybe if one is in the hardware section of Sears they can't ring up clothes, but I'd guess they probably can.
There are just too many other places to shop, where the people are friendly and helpful. I would not be going back there.

Re: shopping trip
Buying items for other genders should never be a problem. Be it for our wives, husbands, aunts, uncles, or children. In raising a family, I have bought jock straps, underwear (boys and girls) and training bras. Nobody thought I was going to personally wear them.
In dealing with a bladder infection, my dear husband bought sanitary pads I needed. He wasn't much embarrassed but felt strange about that. This was in the early days of me finding out about his dressing. So now we find we have the same size pantyhose. He's taller, I'm wider, it works out.
Which brings back Andreas's first post. Buying something for just yourself. Isn't that fun! The first time I went to buy my own clothing, money from grade school sitting jobs, it's like a whole new world opened. It's just thigh highs now, but you will be browsing the clearance racks for blouses or skirts soon.
Now, Any cashier that refused my business, I would have screamed for a manager to have that idiot immediately fired on the spot. Too many people are looking for work and a moron can't do the job they are lucky to have.

Re: shopping trip
Reading over this post likes me to add an experience I had with a shoe store sales lady here in some local Richmond VA store that I can't remember the name of. I told the lady I was looking for woman shoes in large sizes and when she asked what size, I told her it was for me and all I knew was the male size. She told me they did not have those big sizes, however she took it upon her to offer me to measure my feet into woman size.
It turns out I have size 14. She also told me I would probably have better luck in Newport News VA, where there is a store that sells larger sizes. Today my size 14 came in the mail and fits great.
Yes I notice there are many great sales people that do believe in free service and are polite.
Happy shopping girls.
