I'm leaving on a jet plane...

Post by Brianna »

I'm going to Sint Ma-ar-ten!

Well ladies, tonight is the night. After months of chaos I am departing for paradise. I'm taking some good books, Count of Monte Cristo, Dante's Inferno, and Don Quixote. I'm planning on soaking up as much sun as I can (wearing SPF 45/30 of course.) I'm not planning on having any tanlines so that's not a worry either.

I'm taking my makeup and I'm planning on practicing while I'm there. I'm also going to be experimenting with hairstyles too.

I am sooo looking forward to this vacation!

I'll drop in one day while I'm there to let you know how it's going.

Later,

Brianna

That's some heavy reading for vacation.

Hello from St. Maarten

Post by Brianna »

Hi ladies,

I just thought I would take some time to let you know how things are going here on the Friendly Island. It's called that because the Dutch and French share the island but there is no need to carry a passport. In truth, everyone is very friendly... but wouldn't you be if you were here?

I thought I would update everyone on my goings on and let everyone know about the island. I left Denver at 12:40 a.m. Saturday morning (Ugh!) and arrived in Atlanta around 5:15 a.m. After a 5 hour layover, we hopped on a Boeing 757 and off we headed for St Maarten's Princess Julianna IAP. The flight too about 4 1/2 hours but it seemed longer.

After picking up our mountains of luggage, (good thing I decided to travel light,) we headed to the Royal Islander Club La Plage. It's a timeshare I purchased last year after visiting the islad the first time. We (me and my best friend) are staying in a 1 Bedroom unit that sleeps 4 (2 privately.)

Sunday was a lazy day.. sleeping in very late. In fact, it was afternoon by the time we got up. We decided to hike to Cupecoy beach which is lacated just up the road from us... perhaps 1 1/2 miles.) My friend toughed it out and soon we were on the beach. It much more quiet at Cupecoy because it's not right next to an International Airport. The water was a little cool when we got in but it was truly refreshing. Not cold at all and we stayed in for a long time. Cupecoy is a clothing optional beach and I opted for none like many others. The beach seemed to be about 50/50 as far as dress goes. After our stay in the ocean, we laid out on our towels (my frriend wore her bathing suit.)

Monday we took a tour of the island and ended up at Orient Beach for lunch. We ate before leaving so we strolled down the beach to the Papagayo retaurant on the clothing optional end of the beach. My friend got Iced Tea and I got Ice Cream. It's interesting standing at the bar right next to someone who is nude.

Tuesday I met with the salesperson who sold me my unit last year. He showed me the new resort that just opened up (Royal Islander Club La Terasse.) The units are smaller but they are very nice. Every unit has an ocean view but it's right next to the airport. It can be a little loud in my unit so I can only imagine being over there. After that, we took a taxi to Cupecoy again. We got an umbrella and 2 Chaise lounge chairs. We also took a sandwich for lunch and water... and pleanty of SPF 45 sun screen. I was not trying to pressure my friend at all about baring it all. I figured if she wanted to she would, if not that was fine. She went into the water with her suit on and on the way out took a tumble in the surf. the surf can be a little rough and after a fall it's normal to have a lot of sand and sheels in the crotch of your suit. Not nice! When I eventually got out of the water she had her top (one piece suit) down to her waist. We went into the water again later and after a little bit she had her suit off. I suggested I would get the sand out and she could put it back on. She went "sans suit" the rest of the day. We both got a bit more sun than we needed so today we bummed and went to marigot (on the French side to the flea market. This evening we are just bumming

Tomorrow I think we are heading to Philippsburg to shop. There is a shop there (the Rima warehouse store) that we want to visit again. My friend bought her sister a nice little dress for $6.00. It was large so when we returned home (Monday evening) I tried it on. It would definitely not fit with my breast forms so I believe I will be purchasing a couple of dresses in XL.

Friday we are heading to the islad Prickly Pear off Anguilla and then on Saturday we are moving to the next timeshare. It will be much closer to Cupecoy beach. Of course, there will be almost no night life there.

There is really good shopping here on the island for jewelry and booze. This is definitely a place where you can get a cheap drunk. We bought a liter of DiSaronno Amaretto for $13.00 and they keep offering samples of various liquers while you are shopping for jewelry. Last night we bought a liter of some chocolate flavored liquer. Yum!

Another nice thing is I have been practicing on my makeup and hair almost every night we have been here. It's been great and my friend has offered a lot of suggestions.

I do not believe I will get another chance to give you an update before I return home. I will give you all of the details when I get back.

Later,

Brianna

More on the vacation...

Post by Brianna »

Hi ladies,

Well. it's difficult to believe but here it is Friday. Tomorrow we check out of my timeshare and check into another resort. It's much closer to the clothing optional beach, so I think I will like that a lot.

Yesterday we went down to Philippsburg to shop. It was a lot of fun. We went to the Rima warehouse and we bought an awful lot of stuff. I bought 3 really cute dresses that are embroidered. I haven't tried them on yet... perhaps after we move to the new resort.

Today we went on an excursion to Prickly Pear... (it's an English Island off Anguilla.) The snorkelling was good, the beach wasn't too bad (last year the sand was hot as H E double hockey sticks!) Lunch was wonderful. There were only 12 of us onboard and I have to say that I probably out drank the rest of the folks onboard. I was on the trampoline almost the entire way across to Prickly Pear but people crashed on the way back so I couldn't do it. We stopped for an unexpected dip right off the beach of La Samanna (an exclusive resort on the French side... about $1,000.00 per person per night.... gulp!) Anyway, the captain of the ship said we were on the French side and it's clothing optional and ... yes, I couldn't resist. It's a good thing I have been releasing wweight for the past few months. I slipped out of my suit and in I dove. When I got out I walked up the steps and scooted back to where my clothes were. I guess not everyone is comfortable with nudity and I thought I should try to be considerate.

As we were passing Cupecoy beach (pronounced coop-i-koi) some people I met were waving to us. I waved back and mooned them from the port side. Shortly after that, there was an urgent call from the crew... they needed every willing person the moon another sailboat overtaking us... I was glad to pitch in...

It's almost 9:00 p.m. here in St Maarten and my buzz has almost worn off. That's okay... no regrets.

I've been taking it really easy and wearing a lot of sunscreen.. 45 SPF. I figure being sunbirned would not be fun and I can always catch more rays next week. I think next week I move down to 30 SPF. By the way, certain parts really tan up very well.

I don't know how many of you will consider St Maarten as a vacation destination but... if you do, definitely get a Guavaberry Smottie from the Guavaberry Emporium.. They are a little oricey but yummie!

So far the only negative things that have happened are ... a.) I lost two Goodie hairbands, and b.) I discovered that boy leg panties aren't really designed for those of us who have more in the crotch than the average female. Bummer! I suppose if those are the only complaints you have from your vacation you can't really complain.

Well, as always, I've enjoyed posting. I hope everyone is well and I will post more when I return home with my adventures from Brianna's vacation week #2.

Drizzle Drazzle Drizzle Drome...

Post by Brianna »

Time for this one to come home...

Boo Hoo! Here it is Saturday, July 3, 2004 and I must leave my Island Paradise. Somehow it just doesn't seem right that anyone should have to leave this place.

I have had such a wonderful time here... I'm tan, perhaps a little too tan and I do not have any tan lines. I made some wonderful friends of folks who come down here at this same time every year so I look forward to coming back to see them next year.

I did do some shopping so I will tell you about that later when I'm not being charged for it... perhaps later tonight when I am home.

I have some photos that I took that I will share with you sometime. For now, I'll just say talk to you later.
