New Experience

I have been letting my hair grow out for the past year or so. It is now past my shoulders so I figure no longer needed a wig, As it needed some style and form I bought myself a set of hot rollers. Tonight was the first time I used them, definitely a new experience! They are not that comfortable when they are in but they diid give my straight hair curl and body,

I also have to admit the look in the mirror as I did my make-up with my hair in curler was very exhilarating. There is nothing better than feeling all girly. Part of me wants to go out to show of my new look but its raining and I don`t want to ruin my hair. Am I getting too girly in my thoughts?

Don't think your thoughts can ever be too girly. Sounds like fun and happy you enjoyed. I will always be in a wig, have never been able to have my own hair that long and not looking out of control.

I don't know if that's a rhetorical question, but you do seem to turn mentally female. Like I can read it in the way you write and it changes over a period when you're dressing up.

I`m not sure if it was rhetorical either Anthony. I do know it seems like I have a different thought pattern when I am drressed and the longer my Heather time as I refer to it the harder it is to go back. Not sure what exactly what that means but I have thought about starting some form of therapy to try and sort it out.

Heather, I have parallel kind of issues and I do have an analyst I see who I really trust. You have to get the right person - preferably someone who understands gender stuff. My first analyst was a good guy, but it was a long time ago when this stuff came up (i.e. before the change in medical opinions on TGs) and he didn't really understand.

There is something very girly about seeing yourself in curlers Heather. I know I still get a thill from it and I have been doing it over 30 years. No, they are not comfortable but who told you being beautiful is about comfort? Think heels, pantyhose, girdles, etc. If you think having them in for 20 to 30 minutes while they cool is uncomfortable try sleeping in them!

Being a baldy since a young age, I wish that I could still have my own hair .

I would love to have shoulder length hair.

I would love to do it and put my hair up in curlers.

My hair would be gray now but still.

So, I have to use wigs but I get a choice of colors and lengths.

Oh well!

My hair will never grow long enough to use curlers so I will never enjoy your experience Heather. However I always feel very "girly" when dressed as Requal Hence I can emphasize with your feelings.

I can relate to your feelings Heather. Like they say, been there done that. Yes there is a thrill to going through the metamorphosis from boy to girl. I know early on I found that some of the simpler things in life brought me a great deal of satisfaction. True there are times they become a chore however it is all part of being a girl. Enjoy the thrills, it sounds like you are really loving your inner female!

I have loved how long hair looks on women all my life, so you grow it out until you almost trip over it!
Play with it, braid it, curl it, whatever you like, it is your hair!

It took a year?
Well, that means I need to be patient, I guess..

I have just decided to, at least for now, postpone going to a hairdressers.
I have let my hair grow unkempt every few months for most of my adult life, taking just a little too much time to get it cut again.
Part of that is because I am lazy and don't like visiting a hairdresser, partly because I just love twirling it around my finger.
Unfortunately, my hair tends to get all messed up at a certain point.
When I was a kid, it was a beautiful light blonde and perfectly straight, now it is so dark it is almost brown and it starts getting a kind of wavy if I let it grow it too long.
Then it starts to get entangled and if I don't wash it often enough it gets greasy too.
I would so love to have the hair back that I had as a boy, who stole it?
I risk getting comments at work, as usual when I have it this long, but at least they know I regularly have that phase and won't think too much of it, I hope.

I am currently wearing a big hair clip, even though there is little to clip so far.
Just went into my kitchen to make something to eat.
Since it is already dark, I basically only took off my bra, so kept everything including the hairclip and my high heel pumps.
I hardly ever do that.
I had to look through some cupboards and things like that, kept moving my head.
I just loved how the hairclip felt at the back of my head, tugging very gently every time..
How such a little thing, such a tiny detail, can make a huge difference.

I told some of my friends that I just want to see what it looks like, but only one of them knows my true, secret, purpose.
To become stunningly pretty.
I really hope it won't look too horrible when it gets longer, got a tip from that certain friend to use different shampoo and a brush, I hope that helps.

Enjoy your newfound long hair, I'm sure it is far better than any wig.

Alexia, a hairdresser will tell you, the best way to grow your hair out is to get it trimmed about once every month to six weeks. Cutting of the split ends and frizzy bits actually encourages the hair to grow faster and healthier.

You will like the way it looks better, too.
