Does Aging Tend To Bring Out Cross Dressing More?
Like I said before, I generally cross dress to relieve tension. The desires come and go.
However the older I get ( I will be 73 in two months) The feelings seem to be coming on more than normal. I also have begun to feel more womanly and feminine.
Is this normal with the feelings and aging or is there some other factor coming into place?
If I were somewhere no one would know me I think I would like to dress full time as a woman ( only clothes not physically)
I really enjoy dressing as a woman. I also enjoy being more feminine and womanlike.
I would appreciate your input girls.
Thanks.

Could be an age thing (reduced testosterone for example) or just getting ore and more comfortable with yourself.

Re: Does Aging Tend To Bring Out Cross Dressing More?
My opinion has been that age does affect crossdressing. Younger men have more energy. They can use that energy to suppress their need to dress, although it's never 100% successful. They can also keep the secret better; I believe that it takes energy to do that.
About age 40, it’s no longer so easy to tamp down. I’m speaking from personal experience now, but I also see it in writing on here, and I see it in our support group. At 18, I had no problem with the ‘secret,’ and could wall it off from the rest of my life. At 50, I had a big problem with the secret, because it came back out of nowhere. I was upset to see that I no longer had the energy of a young man, and I couldn’t wall it off anymore. It was taking up too much of my energy to even begin to do that.
I also see that as I get older, the gender roles get blurred. The physical appearances of men and women are also more similar. So it’s easier to push the boundaries. Easier—not easy.

As I age I am starting to feel more womanly and feminine. I feel right now I could actually operate as a woman ( but dressing only. If I could and circumstances permitting I do believe that I could be a woman 24/7.Anita wrote:

I thoroughly enjoy dressing as a woman and am sure that I would enjoy being a woman full time. No doubt about it!

Most definitely. The older we get. the more we want to wear womans clothes.
And the more we wear them the more collect and want to go out.
I never thought I would ever go out enfemme. 15 years ago I started.
Slowing down now. getting hard to blend.

Re: Does Aging Tend To Bring Out Cross Dressing More?
I believe well in my case anyway I am now in an extremely strong position...having retired so that I am independently solvent and comfortable, I have few friends, Our sons are adults, My wife who was accepting to a point and tolerant is now, sadly, demented past all care about any of it. My Mother, Father, and grandmother...grandfather died in the 60's, are all gone and my sisters live hundreds of miles away, one I have told, the other I would not because she is just too religious and traditional and would never leave me alone about it.
I have hidden it all of my life, but now circumstances allow me to come out into the sun and live openly. I am building a network of accepting people around me who know.
No I do not believe it is age, not in my case it is the ability to live openly without resounding and bitter rejection of who I am. I am nearly completely out now. But I am still holding back on facebook though I PM ladies...gg's who are my friends.

You are right Janet.
The older I get the more I want to dress as a woman.
If the circumstances permitted I think I could dress for 24/7 with no problem.
I would enjoy being a woman for dressing purposes.
Just love all of the clothes and makeup. Love also my new femininity that has been developing.
I have close to a woman's voice and make an attractive and passable woman! So why noT

Re: Does Aging Tend To Bring Out Cross Dressing More?
I think Donna and Wendae are totally correct. Some of the physiological changes we have later in life must alter our needs and desires and the ability to repress or ignore them. My dressing is a definite reverse bell curve, at a high from 9 to about 18, tapering down when I first married at 22, lead active adventurous life, marriage, kids, then at 45 (Internet) sloping back up for lat 20 years to a real high need/desire. Probably the reverse curve of my testosterone levels.

Re: Does Aging Tend To Bring Out Cross Dressing More?
It goes back and forth.
I suppressed it in my later teens & twenties, but then went exploring the gay world (not my thing), and then het marriage which made dressing almost impossible to resist despite having a gorgeous spouse who constantly wanted me to nail her to the floor. When I found she wanted that almost literally, became single again and rapidly went through a dozen young women before finding an older one with brains. Still, my cross dressing had to be in secret because she took it personally. etc., . . . During all these periods, and after, my libido was high, but so was my shame and fear, until my last wife, who loved me in all shapes, forms, and dresses - but then she died.
Now things have slowed down for two reasons: I don't have to hide but I have no intention of transitioning to even part-time out fem, and I'm 75. I dress only for myself, and only alone. It would be lovely to get back to being a family tranny again, but I'm not seeking it - it's hard enough being my age and out of shape without being socially/sexually active.
This may change as I get stronger (it's happening) and as I begin HRT (haven't even found a doctor or endocrinologist, yet.).
So, yes, sex drive and dressing drives change through the years, but not in predictable directions.
Would that it did - I could really use a schedule!

Well I'll be 73 in two months.
I am very active, strong and healthy and enjoy dressing.
My desire to dress as and to become a woman is growing by the day.
Aging has helped bring out the hidden woman in me.

Well, for me it seems to have. Could be physiological or attitudinal (as in 'I go give a hoot what someone else thinks). Probably both.

I don't know that my getting older has brought out the desire to dress more so than in the past. It has at times given me more opportunity to do so. The biggest thing for me has been being on forums like this one has made me feel better about myself and open my self up to more possibilities.

Re: Does Aging Tend To Bring Out Cross Dressing More?
This "we" I see being referred to can only be the "we" or us who are born with this gift! We all know that testosterone does decrease as we = we = all males = those who were born "male" whatever that may mean in a scientific/medical sense BUT not all males with "decreased" "T" want to dress, act, be, experience, do, what those of us with "the gift" want. Does our estrogen levels increase or decrease or remain constant? Assuming that "E" remains constant then the scales do tip in favor of our femininity a part of our being that we had from birth, that many of us were able to suppress, repress, ignore up until "it" just could not be "held down" any longer. That "time" varied from person to person did it not?
I say embrace it, love it, share it, be it! It is such a wonderous way to live, well I can only speak for Virginia and it is indeed wonderous!!!!
