Hello!

Post by Jezebel »

I'm a 37 year old who's still quite new to the crossdressing game but I became interested when I was 24 but never followed through with it as I lacked the confidence to do it.

It's been hard for me to go through with a lot of things as I've suffered with depression and OCD I take tablets for it now so I'm not too bad now on that front, and have more motivation to give it a go, and I've bought a few small things like make-up brushes, false nails and a pair of black wet look leggings that I bought a few years ago.

Obviously the main thing that's a problem is the whole "Will I get beaten up?" if I went out in public as there are a lot of narrow-minded thugs and bigots about the place looking to cause plenty of trouble for crossdressers. I still live at home with my parents because of the problems I've had and my dad doesn't know that I'm into dressing up because he's worried what might happen if I went out all dressed up, my mum knows, she's slightly less apprehensive about it but still worries (it's only natural) My sister on the other hand isn't quite so worried, which you can understand seen as how we're both of the same generation, and even gave me a box of nail varnishes that she never used. lol

I'm a bit concerned about my body though, I'm broad shouldered and quite thick set, but I do have quite long legs and I've done a virtual makeover on TAAZ and I think I do look feminine face wise, but my stomach is my main worry.

Hello Jezebel, and welcome.

One thing to remember is that women come in all sizes and shapes. And that we need to have realistic goals... being able to go out and be seen by the world as a beautiful woman is not something within reach of most crossdressers. True, you can change some things, learn some things, improve some things, but at the end of the day, there are things that you can't change about your body. So, focus on the things you can change and improve if you want, knowing that you also have options as for where to go out to. There are places which are more tolerant than others.

Good luck!

Hi and welcome Jezebel. Like Gaby says, baby steps. Take steps slow and a little at a time. I have found that most people are more accepting than you think. Yes there are some out there that will treat you bad but I have luckily not encountered any of those. Stick to main stream places with with a mix of people and my experience is you will be ok when out and about shopping.
