Eyebrows

Post by Penelope Carol »

This morning I visited a local beauty salon to have my eyebrows waxed. I'd had that done before a few months ago at another salon nearby, which tends to be open on days when the others are closed and where appointments never seem to be necessary, but didn't want to go there again because, soon afterwards, I found a news item on the internet which showed it to be a less-than-reputable establishment!
That has turned out to be a wise decision. The lady who treated me this morning explained to me that she would first need to clean away any make up from the eyebrow area to prevent the risk of folliculitis, whereas the girl in the other salon had taken no such precaution. I also found the service today to be generally much more professional, as she expained to me at each step what she was doing and why. Her opinion was that I would benefit from a combination of waxing and threading. I've heard that some people find both procedures a bit uncomfortable - she even told me she had known some customers to scream - but I went ahead with it and it wasn't at all what I would call painful.
There are two things I'll try to remember when I next plan to visit Nail Divas beauty salon. Firstly, when you have your eyebrows threaded, it's necessary to pull the skin tight around the eyebrow, and the lady required me to place one hand on my forehead and one on my eyelid. So if you're going to have your eyebrows threaded it might be a good idea not to use mascara that morning. Secondly, she thought I might have benefitted from having them tinted too. I'm sure she's right, but the tinting has to be done first. So next time I'll ask for it first.
In spite of the scare stories, I found my eyebrow treatment quite agreeable, but if you're thinking of having it done, look for recommendations first, or try to find out more about the salon you're considering. As it happens, my visit to the other salon was, fortunately, without consequence, but things might have turned out differently. Take care!

Not easy being a woman, and trying to stay pretty. Hate to say it but for me, after thre days of dressing, when I get the chance, I'm happy to be back to male mode for a day or so.

Hi.

What not easy being a woman lol,s what about being a female would you say that's harder,
I think I see your fun side of this.

eye brows oh you mean you have them wow oh dear me I wonder what they are like gee so how do you get them do you grow them ,,,,Hmmmm I wonder , As I don't have any I quess I don't miss them .

oh well have to pencil them on.

Interesting point you bring up , trying to stay pretty quess I don't and does not bother me as I do manual work and no different for me over the last 55 years strikes me funny you like getting back to male mode, made me laugh, Male mode whats that...lol,s
.
Best I,ll do is shorts a tee and overalls on and sun hat oh yea we do have sunny days over here in winter,
I do get dressed up for our concerts when I,m on stage and that's nice or in uniform Army dress code in female . most of the time I,m not all dressed up and even when my friends come round they know I,ll be all dusty working in the workshop sanding or making things in timber = lumber,

I can be a lady when the need presents itself though really I,m happy just doing work on jobs or painting or what ever so even many of us don't get into being all dressed up all the time I think we like normal life ,
