Know any fun things to do in NYC?

Hi girls,

I wondered if any of you know any fun things to do while CDing in New York City? I have never been out dressed, but I might pluck up the courage when I go there soon, if there is some great place to go? It sounds like the kind of place there should be loads for a girl to do! Any advice would be very gratefully recieved...

You might have to look through the site for info on clubs, on the forum section they talk about recent events.

I am on this site, but I can only post about NYC clubs in the past, I have left NYC and don't know much about todays clubs.

I went clubbing in NYC a couple of years ago with a GG. We went to Club Edelweiss, which is basically a bar where tranny chasers pick up T-girls.
I don't recommend that one.

We also went to Meow Mix, a Lesbian bar which has since closed. It was a great place.

You should be able to find some nice places on the Motherboards using the link that Amelie posted. You should have a couple of different options in case one of them doesn't work out. Also, I recommend calling ahead to find out about cover charges, and also special events. Some "gay" clubs have special nights where T-Girls are especially welcome.

I would also recommend avoiding public transportation if possible. We took a taxi which felt safer and more comfortable.

Ha,,Lol, Sharon Rose, I used to go to Edelweiss when it was on 27 or 28th street after they closed the Fabric Factory. I kinda liked it. lol Then they moved uptown. around 9th ave, and it became to far for me to get to, I would rather hang out locally in the East Village than take a cab uptown.

Actually in NYC any club is OK for T-girls. I never limited myself to go to T-girl type of clubs. I went to any disco, club, bar that I wanted to, no one really cared about me, except maybe the admirer types who tried to pick me up. Anyway, straight clubs are OK to go to, unless things have changed simce I've been there, but I doubt it.

I went out in public for the first time while visiting NYC with my girlfriend a few years ago. Had no problems (except for a few stares) walking through Times Square or even riding the subway down to the Village. Of course, always be vigilant.

I have checked all the sites, and printed them out, so I have the phone numbers when i get there...I really appreciate your help!

I'll be in NYC alone, so I'm a little nervous at my first time out, but I'm determined to give it a try if I feel brave enough!

I read about a couple of T-girl friendly restaurants, and wondered if they might be worth a try, as well as the clubs...I guess I'll see how my courage goes!

Kate when are you coming to town? Which places are you thinking of going? I am usually out every weekend (in NYC). Many of the places I go would not be a first choice for a first outing. Depending on my plans that weekend, I may be able to join you or point you in the best direction. We could at least meat for a drink. BTW you joined this group on my B Day.
