I have always tried to bring to the forum, material worth reading. I, on a personal note, have read hundreds of really good ideas about life. While, at the same time, failed to adopt a great deal of them. Easier to read than it is to do!
I read this little concept and wanted to share.
"This calls to mind the man in a desolate mountain region who was a laborer six days a week and a preacher on the seventh. He served a small rural congregation tucked far up in the hills. The only monetary compensation he got came from the morning offering. One Sunday, his six-year old daughter went along with him to the service. Just inside the door of the small frame church was a table, and on it rested a collection basket. As they entered, the daughter saw her father place a half-dollar in the wicker basket before any of the people arrived.
When the service had ended and the last member departed, the parson and his daughter started to leave. As they reached the door, both peered expectantly into the collection basket and found that the only "take" was the half-dollar he had donated.
After a short silence, the little girl said, "You know, Daddy, if you had put more in, you'd have gotten more out!"

Perhaps it is justified to say, if he had put more money into the basket....or if he had put more effort into the sermon.....???? We all can find answers to yesterday's questions. It is easy to challenge this, but in reality, it is what we do with our time that will make the difference.
