28 Months Later

Post by Amanda Louise »

No, that's not the title of the second sequel to the film "28 Days Later" ...

Hi girls!

Difficult for me to believe but it really is two years and four months since I last posted here (October 2005). Though I have popped in occasionally for a quick lurk, I hadn't even done that since May 2007! It's great to see many familiar names are still posting ... and wow there seems to be a whole lot of new posters for me to get to know (I plan to visit much more often in future).

Well on to the main reason for posting - a brief update on what's been happening since I last posted -

Having reached a particularly low point in early 2006 I decided, after discussing with Cathy(SO), to "out" myself to friends and family. This was a major turning point for me as ever since I've been much happier. I guess I've been really lucky as almost everyone accepted my crossdressing pretty well - indeed the reaction from my sisters was along the lines of "Is that all? We thought you were going to tell us something really bad!". So now all my close friends (and quite a few not-so-close) are aware of my cross-dressing, as are my sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and indeed my mother-in-law. One person I haven't told though is my father - myself and both sisters agreed that it would probably freak him out if I told him.

While I'm still an (almost) exclusively at-home girl, the urge (need?) to go out dressed finally overcame my inhibitions and I have visited our local village stores dressed - the only noticeable reaction I got was "That's a pretty top" (scoop-neck, shocking pink with a sequin butterfly on the front). Mainly though I only dress at home, indoors or in our secluded patio garden.

Cathy(SO) is as wonderfully supportive as ever ... or possibly even more so. Things are pretty good for Amanda Louise these days!

Hi Amanda, welcome back. I too am a new member here, but love all the girls opinions and advice, and love reading their stories, knowing and learning how close we each really are in our lives, and not so alone as we all have thought at one time or another.

Hi and welcome back, Amanda Louise!

I'm glad it's all going so well for you :)
"Is that all? We thought you were going to tell us something really bad!".
This is exactly how my daughter reacted when her step-Dad told her about his CDing. She thought he was going to tell her he had a terminal illness...phew, what a relief...just crossdressing...big deal  :P

It's so good when people keep it in perspective! It's really good to to see a fellow Sussex girl. Three in one thread. It's a small world isn't it, recognise that coast behind my avatar?

Love,
Curly :)

It is nice to have the support of ones sisters. I know that when I told her, there was a little negative for the first hour or so and than there was nothing but positive support from her. Hope that yours continue to be as supportive to you in several ways, emotionally and help and guidance in reaching your goal. Mine has been most helpful in "growing" up quickly and projecting a positive mature not scandelous women. Clothing as well as make up application. We enjoy each others company as sisters especially the private converations. Enhance and develop and keep that relationship with you sisters and you will never be lost for friends. Sisters are powerful and strong.
