Steffie's hiatus

Hi girls,

I know it's been a while since I last posted pictures but that's because for the last month and a half I have been in total male mode since my move to NC due to my new job and moving logistics. So far the job is going well and we're unpacking little by little. All this has pretty much put Steffie in mothballs. However this weekend I FINALLY got a chance to go out. My wife has still not unpacked everything; so I had to hunt for a lot of Steffie's stuff in boxes (wig, forms, makeup and certain clothes). After a lot of searching I was able to piece together an outfit. lol

When I first went to put on makeup it felt so strange; I almost forgot how to do it as I was used to a certain routine. But it's like riding a bike: you never forget how. For Saturday I chose some Capri's and a cute pink top as well as sandals. I went to my garage, got in the car and did a quick getaway (something I was never able to do in NJ as I had no garage). This was as scary as my first time out in 2005 as this was a new area plus in the South to boot. My heart was racing.

First thing I needed to do was get some gas. Lucky me there were redneck types as the gas station I went to but they didn't seem to notice me as I was pumping gas. Next I stopped at a nail salon for a manicure/pedicure. I had my nails done in a pink color. Everyone in the shop was nice to me; one woman even referred to ma as ma'am.

Another lady (late 40's-early 50's) started talking to me and we had a pleasant conversation.

Next I went to an Italian restaurant and had dinner and no one seemed to notice me (or if they did they didn't let me know). Lastly I went to a local club (it was a gay one though not mainstream as I was still cautious for my first time out). I had a good time and music was great; the only thing I didn't like was they permit smoking in the clubs and restaurants (unlike in NY and NJ). I think I was the only non-smoker there. lol I tried to avoid the smoke as it is not good for my human hair wig. I still had a good time though and got home a little last 1 A.M. Walking out of the club a guy started talking to me; he was originally from NY as it turns out. he seemed nice and offered to walk me to my car. However I declined (I smiled and said no thank you). I was just being cautious.

Sunday I decided to go out during the day. I wore a green top and some shorts. I walked in the forest. On the trails no one seemed to pay me any attention; so I guess I blended in.

After I got home I helped my wife make dinner (I stayed in Steffie mode) and we then relaxed.

At least I can report that my first couple of times out as a Carolina girl was a success! It felt good to be a girl again.

HI Steffie,

Believe it or not SL and I were talking about you at dinner tonight and were saying how we missed you and hoped you were settling into your "new area" and hoping you would post and ............ just like magic, there you are!!!!!

I am glad you are finding your way around and beginning to feel a bit more comfortable. As I have said before, just be careful. This ain't Kansas no more!

So you actually went out hiking also, that is great! I know what you mean by smoking, the local "Cosmopolitan Club" here as no restrictions and I can only hang around for a short time then come home and wash everything to get the smell out!

Look forward to your sharing your adventures with us and as you can see we have some new members who will enjoy meeting Steffie as well!

I was wondering how you were getting along in a new environment, and I hoped we'd hear from you. Here you are! There are some bars/clubs to go to, so that's good. How big a city did you relocate to? Or is it near to one of the bigger ones?
