Powder Puff Cheer leader?

Post by Lori A »

My senior year of High School during a class council meeting I was asked if I would be a Cheerleader for the up coming Powder Puff Football game. I had never been to that annual event, so I didn't know what I was setting my self up for when I said, "yes". I had no idea until the night of the event when I showed up at the class presidents house that I would be made up by the girls and given an actual Cheer Leaders uniform to wear, in front of the home crowd, while the girls played football.
Was any other forum member ever a Powder Puff Cheer Leader? *-* @@9@@

It was a riot, that was the first time I had gotten that close to any of the girls that ganged up on me when I walked through Jerri's door that evening. We recently moved back to my home town and maybe I'll run into some of them who may have pictures.
Wish all of society could accept our cross dressing the way the home crowd did that night @@9@@

"Hippie Cheerleader" replies

Post by Kendra Lynn »

Hello all: No "dressing" for me while in high school ,and as far as I know the high school I attended never did anything like that. And of course as a "hippie" sympathizer while in high school, all I could do was look at the cheerleaders and admire their fresh healthy appearances. But I learned that one of the other high schools in Montgomery County, MD did (and still does?) have a POWDER PUFF football game in which boys were dressed as "female" cheerleaders. Saw photos in a friend's yearbook.
Some of you may also recall the brief reversal sequence in REVENGE OF THE NERDS (and of course there's Corey Haim's great performance-- and look-- in JUST ONE OF THE GIRLS).
In 1996 I dressed as a cheerleader for Halloween and really enjoyed it.
So now...I appear at protests, marches, and other events in the Washington D.C. area as the "hippie cheerleader." The basic outfits are fairly conventional cheer uniforms, but I'll also have a peace sign pendant or earrings, or will wear buttons with environment, peace, and or "civil liberties" messages. I might wear a jean jacket or poncho over the cheer outfit to give the ensemble an additional "hippie" accent.
This gives me a way to combine my CDing with political expression.
Any other cheerleaders (aspiring or otherwise) out there?
Best wishes for the spring!!
Peace-- Kendra Lynn ("hippie cheerleader")

Our high school also held the "Powder Puff" football game, with guys in the cheerleader outfits. I was actually a little jealous of them, but was so deep into my 'secret' that there was no way I would volunteer to dress up in front of the local crowd.

We had one of those in high school. But I was always completely clueless about any school related events/activities. If I knew ahead of time, I would have dragged my friends to join with me. :(

We didn't have anything like that in my high school (in New Jersey). But I recall some classmates dressing in drag for a Halloween party during senior year. Alas, I was not one of them.

I sure was.. only I went a step beyond. A dear friend of mine was a Lettergirl (more dance squad than cheer leader, kind of like majorettes, only without the bodysuit [darnit]), she loaned me her uniform and helped me dress properly with bra, panties and hose along with the bloomers they wore. (Gods I was in HEAVEN wearing her clothing like that, I wanted to date her so badly). Anyway, she did my make up as well and I walked around the school the entire day dressed like that while the other guys rushed to get out of the "costumes". Best day in school I had in a long time.

I wear the bras and panties so she doesn't have to.
