Half-awake this morning (Sunday) sitting in front of the TV and the sports section comes on, something about baseball scores. The announcer shows some guy hitting a homerun and makes the comment that the pitcher sometimes wears a "golden thong" for good luck?! Then goes on to say, that "I guess he did not have it on today, but I did not check!"

My query is, at what point in a major league pitcher's career did he discover that wearing a "golden thong" would bring him luck!

Inquiring minds want to know!

OH MY GOD!!!!!

SL tells me that she read about this on Yahoo news last night!

Now not only does the pitcher wear it, but evidently "IT" is shared by other team members who wear "IT" (not that they each have one, but "IT") when they feel they are "In a slump!"

Wonder what the team psychologist has to say about that!?

Wasn't it in the movie "Bull Durham" that a pitcher wore a garter belt for luck? No stockings if I remember right.

Unfortunately, when you consider how the yankees have been playing lately, I think that he should try something else. Personally, I would be wearing a nice pair of pantyhose.

While I am a great lover of pantyhose and wear them all the time when going out, I would not want to pitch 9 innings wearing them. For they are hot enough in the summer just walking about the street or in malls. But on the field where the temp can be hotter than elsewhere---OH, the buckets of sweat! And talk about "jock-itch!"

Besides wearing fur coats Broadway Joe Namath wore pantyhose under his uniform for warmth. Yeah. We girls know! Hugs.

Continuing with the "theme." It was proven that over 80% of the GUYS building the Alaskan Pipeline wore pantyhose -- for warmth --- I guess!
But not "golden thongs"
