How old were YOU when you first went out dressed?

Post by Roberta-Llyan »

My question is simple: How old were you when you first went out in femme dress? What were the circumstances?

Me: I went out the first time at about 15 years old--for I was in the 9th grade. My friend Joe F. and me went to a fundamental baptist church halloween party in drag. And then walked back home through down-town Springfield, Missouri.

And you?

I went out to the back yard to play on the tree swing, wearing a black skirt and white peasant blouse. No wig. Age 10.

Fully fem with wig and makeup, age 21. Went for a walk in a neighborhood across from the apartments I lived in in Temple TX.

If you're counting Halloween then 16 years old. Was wearing my sisters bra and panties and shoes, mothers pantyhose, slip, dress and wig.

If Halloween doesn't count then it was not until I was 22 when I attended my first Neutral Corner meeting in San Diego California. Blue and white knee length dress, white shoes (it was summertime), no wig (my own hair tends to look quite femme on its own being so bloody curly).

I wear the bras and panties so she doesn't have to.

I was in my mid-twenties when I first left my home dressed (with makeup, water balloons for breasts, no wig.) I drove three hours to my then-girlfriend's house and had to stop for gas along the way. Self-service, but I was incredibly nervous about it! The following Halloween I went to a private party among friends fully dressed.

Going out among the general public took me another fifteen years or so - at Diva Las Vegas a month ago.

My first time out I was in my late 30's. I had recently found several personal web sites with good information including those of Gaby and Yvonne. Within about a week I went from a pervert and worse to I am not the only one and I do not need to be one of the guys on the news doing something perverted and bad on the news. I needed to shout it to the world it seemed. I was going out of town for a conference and would not know anyone there. I did not have time to do any prep work, so on the way to the airport I stopped at a second hand store and got what i did not have for clothes and some shoes. All of which were out of fashion and tight. I bought my first makeup the night before. You know the quick, this looks good grab, pay and get out of there.

So after 4 hours of getting ready for the first time fully dressing emfemme in too tight out of fashion clothes, a light coat with a hood up because I did not have a wig, and my first ever try at makeup I am ready to go out. It takes me about 20 minutes of telling myself "it does not matter what others think I will never see them again", to finally open the door. I encountered way more people than I expected because I ended up walking through a night club area on a Friday night of all nights. I got lots of looks, stares, giggles, laughs, comments from people but I repeated over and over to myself "it does not matter what others think I will never see them again". After about 15 minutes I began to notice most did not seem to see me even walking by me or at least did not show it to me or did not care how I was dressed. I got some interesting looks, grins, and smiles mostly from gals. But no one confronted me or made any violent moves to me.

My short walk ended up being about an hour and may have been longer but my feet were really beginning to hurt from the too tight 3in heels I was wearing. While out, I was very nervous and on edge, yet there was this calm about being out like that.

The first time I ever stepped out the door I was 14 and wore my sister's pink Easter dress complete with matching undies and heels, she was 17, and Mom's platinum blonde wig.

The first time I truly "went out" I was 24, out of college and living on my own. I wore a bright red print dress, very much the style back in 1979, with white strappy high heel sandals with a cork sole and heel, somewhere I have a picture of the outfit if I can ever find it. My how fashions come back, those shoes would be so in style today but I digress. My intentions were to go to a drag show at a club in downtown Detroit but I chickened out and just drove around although I did stop for gas.

Oh...I guess I had some early "toe out the door" times...a quick trip to the mailbox, a few drives (in total fear). But really, I consider my first time just a few years ago..when I posted here for the first time, asked for advice and was so nervous about going to a Christmas dinner with my group. Not so long after, I went to DisneyWorld enfemme. Try that..once in the park you're kinda committed. Since then, I've gained confidence, and so enjoy who I am know. Those that know me now as Dee accept me and I feel so comfortable. Early or late, if you can get out....its wonderful. And really, you're just another woman to most people. But as with lots of us, circumstances dictate what we can do, so do what you can. enjoy our "gift" and be safe!!!!

Halloween in my mid 20's. Then after that nothing, including not much dressing, till my early 50's. Now it's mostly solitary stuff, walks in the woods and such, although those are some of my favorite things to do as a guy also. I never liked clubs, and the bars I went to back when I drank were not the sort of place that would be at all T friendly. You probably wouldn't be harmed but most folks would assume you were a prostitute.

I was 14 and when my mother worked the late hours I would dress and go out for a walk around the block, nobody ever knew. But one Saturday when mother was supposed to be working she came home and I was caught red handed dress from head to foot, I'll NEVER forget that day. #-o

From the tone of your written words, Carol, you speak about it as though it was not a good day? Am I correct?

I started dressing at about 13 and my 'outside' experiences were limited to the backyard and out to the mailbox, until I went into the Army and supressed my feelings for the next 7 years.

Once out of the service and finally living on my own, I again started back into the baby steps approach, mostly staying in or night time walks around the neighborhood, and some driving around Amarillo at night, while my wife worked the night shift.

But my first time really really 'out' as Terrilynn, camein 2000/01. My wife was working a one year contract all the way across the state in Waco, tx. I was spending almost every minute I could enfemme when not at work, showering and changing as soon as I got home each day.

I began chatting in the one of the CD rooms at MSN, before they went pay, and met and chatted with several very supportive girls there. One girl I met, who is now a member here, finally talked me into coming to Dallas to attend a meeting with the group she was a part of there.

I took that Friday off, and drove the 6 hours and got a room in the same hotel the meeting was being held in. Within 2 hours of checking in, I was changed, dressed, and out the door losing myself in the anonimity of Dallas.

I spent the entire weekend, including the drive back on Sunday night enfemme. (Thank you Zarabeth for not listening to my thin excuses why I couldnt do that.) I met so many wonderful girls and SO's at that meeting, even going out after to Denny's and a cpl of clubs for dancing and socializing. I will never forget that first full weekend as being me, and having a ball and enjoying myself so much.

Ive been out now many times since, but I will always hold that first weekend as my favorite, so far.

Thank you, again, Zarabeth.

Well my sisters used me as their dress up doll so I cant remember exactly when I first went out dressed. I guess my first memory is when I was about 9, I went out with my friends "Guising" one Halloween. I wore a girls party dress with all the correct accessories.

From then on I wore bits and pieces on a regular basis.

But my first adult expedition without caring about who saw me was as late as 1983 when I was 31. I had found the Beaumont Society and made my way with some other "girls" to Ron Stormes in London.
Those were the days.......

memories...

Hi Roberta-Llyan,
Yes and no, bad day I was caught and crying to say "I'll never do it again".
So to make a long story short my mother made me stayed dress the rest of the day and the next day we had that old talk WHY.

Took her a couple of days but she said it was OK but not to wear her cloths as she gave me a white blouse and a plain blue skirt and I had to keep it a secret . So anyway that was my start being outed by mom

Fortunately, Carol, it doesn't seem to sound as bad as it could have been. At least you didn't get a beating. That speaks highly of your mother/father.

Glad it all went well and worked out to your benefit and future. For I enjoy having you here with me and us.

Have a good weekend.

Hugs

I started dressing at about age 9 or 10, with mom's clothes. I must have been 11 or 12 when one morning while Mom was at work still, dad gone already too, I dressed and took around the outside of the house in heels, hose and everything else. It felt soooooooo really nice. But can't help wondering to this day if the nosey neighbor next door saw me. Anyway loved the feeling of the cool fall breeze blowing up my dress. [/b][/i]
