Donna, if you look at the clocks on the left-hand side of the home page, you'll see the “you last visited” clock on top, and the “time is now” clock on the bottom.Also when I selected the "View posts since last visit" feature, I'd get a response indicating that there were no new posts.
When you get the the “No topics or posts met your search criteria” message, look at the clocks. Even if it’s been eight hours since your last visit, the top clock will have reset:
You last visited: May 31, 2008 12:28
Time is now: May 31, 2008 12:29
So the software thinks that a minute ago was your last visit, and of course there’s been no posts in that amount of time!
I go to another phpBB forum where this happens, too, and no one could figure it out until I noticed the clocks. We still don’t know why it happens, though.
I posted about it on here as an answer to someone else's problem with this, but a search of keywords "clock" and "reset" under my name didn't return any results.

Oh, Caith, my friend, would you please, pretty please, install a "getdaily" feature to the Forum, that would work independently of our current "view posts since last visit" search engine?
