Conventions and Conferences

Post by ChristineK »

OK I have Googled both and came up with some interesting results.

I want to hear from you! I think if my wife and I went to one she would see the big picture and I would have an opportunity to be me in public with her comfortably with others like us.

I saw many venues but some seemed crack pot and others of value.

If anyone here could add I would appreciate it. One close to home (Alabama) would be even better.

Thanks All.
I have been out for over a year already WOW!

One that is held every year that would be very good for a wife is "Spice". It is not a normal CD convention as the CD's are urged NOT to dress. "Spice" is all about the SO not the CD.
Another good one is HEF. "Holiday En Femme" put on by Tri-Ess. You do not have to be a member to go to this one. When I went to HEF2006, I was not a member of Tri-Ess. I became a member 6 months later. At HEF2006, they had SO seminars where the CD is not allowed in the seminar. This was so the SO's could talk about thier issues.

I would give 4 thumbs up, my wife and I, for SPICE and spouses new to CDing. It was turning point for my wife. We have been to two of them now. And no CDing is allowed. Kind of strange, a no CDing CDing conference. First time was kind of strange waking into a room of mostly couples and knowing all of the guys were CDers. BTW the conference is once a year and is in July in TX.

Update: I just check the web site and it says the conference has been canceled. That is a loss of a great conference especially for new and struggling spouses.

I concur with Donna, I have been to the SCC and it is usually held in September if I remember. I had a great time, met some really nice folks and the seminars were well done! It was the first conference that I had ever attended and I felt right at home and like I said, every one was just so nice!

I would also highly recommend the Diva Las Vegas, but ONLY after you attend one of the more structured conventions and you are comfortable in being out in public! SL and I had our Committment Ceremony in Vegas during the Diva Las Vegas conference in 2007 and it was awesome!!!!

Another is the "BE All" in Chicago. It is compriable to the SCC but for you the SCC would be more convenient!

Let us know what you decide!
