Dress Barn is also a good one. My Tri-Ess chapter had a after hours shopping spree at a local Dress Barn. The store wants to do another one soon.

I agree the younger SA's seem more excited to help, but I have had great luck with old gals also. One evening shopping in male mode I talked girdles with an older SA, I would say mid 50's plus, for over an hour including trying on. It was one of those times when you think leaving the store, "did that really happen" .

Don't try to tell anyone a small bottom and large top is for your wife. Be honest, for the most part the sales help is on commission and will sell snow to an eskimo.

I've gone to Dress Barn, Younkers, Fashion Bug, Macy's, Sears, Alto, Kohls, K Mart, Walmart, Payless, NY & Co, JC Penny, heck I go everywhere now. I don't give a hoot. People ignore you anyhow. Even if I am looking at bras and panties. I try shoes on anywhere, just slip them on.

Dress Barn, Fashion Bug & NY & Co are great, I can go to their changing rooms wo question. Some of the others I grab what I want to try on, throw a pair of jeans over them and go to the men's room.

I have found Catherine's very friendly. I have used the Dressing Room. Key is go when store is not very busy. She helped me pick out sizes and brought new ones when that one was too big. I got 3 pair of Jeans last month at Local Catherine's here.

Right Fit are great Jeans. The Secret Slimmer are super too!

I will agree with this Steve. If they do not have many other customers to worry about upsetting they are more free to help you with your needs. Respecting the SA's and the other customers is also very key.

Today I went to JC Penny. Found a couple of skirts, folded them, took the escalator to the 2nd story, straight to the mens changing room and tried them on. Went back downstairs, got the correct size and paid for them. I didn't notice if anyone looked at me at all. I don't pay attention....

I had fun....

-If you go into a larger store like jc penny, macy's, nordstrom, don't think for one minute you're not being watched. The cameras you can see are probably dummies... it's the cameras you can't see... . The best thing you can do is tell a SA what you are doing if you leave a department with an item. They will be fine with this approach and will be sure you are not shop-lifting

Hmmm.. many times in JC Penny's I have grabbed a skirt or dress and brought it to the mens changing room. Most times i throw something on top, but never thought anyone would ever think i was shoplifting. I would never do something so stupid.

On camera??? I've never had a problem. Never been approached but sometimes, like so many others, if it doesn't fit I leave it in the room...
If what you are saying this is not the wisest thing to do.

I don't know what the laws are now but used to be you did not leave a department w/o telling an SA. Now they have so few in the stores maybe it's ok. Probably they remember you

sorry, had to cut that one short. My daughter worked for Nordstrom undercover security and told me about how things work and how they profile people. CD's are usually a safe bet. Fear not. Someone who looks like they don't belong will be watched also now shoplifters work in teams so they watch for that even from outside the store.

i had to laugh, that is how i have worked with khol's and JCPenney for years now. pick out my things off the 75% off rack and head for the men's changing room. 99% of the time there isn't a SA anywhere around. with jcpenny you can check out anywhere in the store so 'department jumping' is common.

Today my wife and i shared a fitting room at the salvation army trying on blazers and blouses. it was rather busy and nobody said a word.
