Tyra does it again!

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Tyra does it again!

Post by Virginia »

Caught part of the Tyra Banks Show today, Monday, July 7th. She had six T-Girls on who had participated in "A" or "The" T-Girl Beauty Contest. I can't get the name of the contest right (Help Donna) FantasyFair or FantasiaFair. Anyway Tyra showed a video of an interview with the mother of one of the girls who happened to be from South Carolina. She was in tears of joy about how her mother had supported her and was there for her when she had her BA and how her mother defended her to all her friends and how most everyone in her community now accepted her. She then turned to Tyra and said how much she and "all of us" equating the fact that there are a lot of us "out there" that it was so nice to come on Tyra's show and tell our story and not "be exploited." Her comments were so sweet and sincere, she had Tyra in tears. Tyra remarked how she was amazed with "us" and how in the face of all the public adversity we still sought to be who we are!!!

Tyra has had "us" on several of her shows and she always treats us with compassion, care and respect! Now if we could get the same response from Falwell, or Robertson or Dobson! Ain't gonna happen!

Love,

Virginia

Hay sister,
There is a big difference in being open mined and closed mined, I don't want to start a war on what is right or wrong but I am given a choice as to how I want to live my life and I am an old hard core Lutheran.

It's The Fantasia Fair

Post by Jeannie »

Hi Ladies
The Fantasia Fair has been held yearly in Provincetown Mass for almost 30 years. Just Google it. If you sign up early they have reduced hotel rates for the week. They have a Fantasia Fair forum. Tgirls come from all over the world and go nuts for the week.
I never attended but was tempted. It's a 4 hour drive from Waterbury. I've been to Provincetown but not during the Fair. It's a fun place.

Love

Yes. Her mother defended her before she got the acceptance. Defended means fight. So somebody, her or her mother had to fight for the acceptance. The key word here is fight. It ain't gonna come sitting around in no closet that is for sure.

Yes, the fight goes on. In an advice column in the paper yesterday,
Annie was asked by a SO if wearing pantyhose may be medically harmful to her husband. Annie replied that they should come off at least once daily for
skin breathing but that it posed no risk. Then she couldn't stop there, but felt compelled to note "You're a very tolerant woman."

I wonder if Annie would think that husband "tolerant" when his SO wears, slacks, boots, tee shirts or any of a number of once male attire that has been
usurped by women for decades.

I believe Annie's answer showed a lot about her bias.
