One thing I never understood about the mods and that was how did they manage to put up a fight against the rockers. I mean the mods wore clothes that were to stylish to fight in and their motor scooters were, well,, kinda girly, something a parking meter person would ride on here in the US, not like the mean BSA’a that the rockers rode. I always thought that the rockers should have wipe the mods butts with little probs.

In the 70’s when I first heard of the rockers from England, I had thought they were a legit motorcycle gang, ya know like the Hells Angels or the Pagans here in the US. I always thought that it would be cool if some English Rockers bikers would come to my hood and kick a-s-s on the street gangs in my hood like the Savage Skulls and Black Spades. I didn’t know that the rockers were just a music scene of guys,, sort of like Elvis fans. Lol

Well, I gues this thread has been officially hijacked, sorry about that Joanne. But Joanne, I do know what you talk about in your first post, If I am correct in what you say, then I was banned from that same forum. Lol

I think I know now which site you mean; I remember wanting to end my membership there and was told that wasn't possible. I went over there last night for the first time in over a year and lo and behold! I no longer exist there. Cool.

The reason for my departure: they changed the rules regarding content in the Photo Area, unbeknownst to me (I popped into that forum only once or twice a month), and rather than sending me a PM (or even deleting the offending pic) the Mods decided to suspend me. I was furious. I couldn't believe they suspended me; I'm so not (intentionally) offensive! Oh well, it just served to confirm to me that we have a good place here. With, uh, reasonable Mods.

I can't remember the date, but a year or two ago the Admin over there, now no longer there) had a breakdown and suspended/deleted a whole bunch of people for no reason.

LOL Donna, I was one of them that got deleted, but i returned to the forum and got banned, I wanted it to be official. That's the way us rockers are.

Amelie...I just found a pic of two girl Mods and Rockers fighting....was going to post it....but don't want to be the first Mod to be banned on here for 'inappropriate' pics

And anyway, the girl rocker looked like she was winning

either the one with the break down is still there or that site brings on mental breakdowns in the mod's and administrators.

i had one with the initals T.C. harass me off the board. she took down thread, edited and deleted posts and then began a series of nasty PM's that she wouldn't stop even when i repeatedly asked her to.

the out of the blue she sent this one:

of course, she was back to the same thing within a few days. in the end she banned one person that questioned her on the thread she deleted and gave me an 'infraction'. i'm afraid to post over there anymore. sad, really sad.

We have and/or had several members here that are also mods or admins there.

I'm embarassed to say that I've visited and registered with that particular forum, but after reading through the archives I found I didn't like the tone or content. I haven't been back there in over a year, and have no desire to return.

I much prefer our smaller, friendlier forum . . . a forum where everyone knows your name and calls you a friend.

yeap, if you look at her avatar over there it has her picture with the words "PURE EVIL", not only does she admit it she is proud of it!

silverlady, when i asked my wife to look at one of these sites, the choice was simple. the level of discussion is far and away better here. that place would have scared the heck out of her. you're right about the tone and content.

donna, i think people have tried. seems like TC has too much power and nobody is able to stand up to her.

Heh.. I just got a PM over there that one of my posts had been edited by them... like I have ever posted anything that needed "editing".

I'll stick around over there because I have made some wonderful friends there, actually met one of them in person yesterday (in drab) as well..

I just had a PM there that one of mine was deleted.

They probably didn't like the included links, never mind that similar links to the same web site were posted sometime back and all I did was put them in a replay to a new thread so no one would need to search for them.
