Tonight as a birthday gift I was given a book by a friend,called "Its not easy being green and other things to consider".It was written by Jim Henson,the muppets and friends .It contains thoughts and quotes from all of the writers.it is a heartwarming book to read.What really struck me though are the words my friend wrote on the inside.
She knows about me,but I didnt think she cared about me all that much.As it turns out she cares about me as much as anyone on this forum does,much more than my own family seems to.I would like to share her words with everyone here as I think most of it would apply to any of us here.
"Because nothing worthwhile,or spectacular,or mystical,or unique is ever easy! So always fight for who you are,what you believe &all that makes you happy!!And never forget what a gift you are...how even if you've hit a wall or onlytouched a single life with your wisdom...you matter,you make a difference.You enrich my life.Stay 'green' my dear freind"
What better birthday gift than the gift of caring which comes with the gift of hope.What was mostly a very gloomy day for me ended with a rainbow.

Jennifer, You are so fortunate to have a friend. If I may wax philosophical for a moment. As we travel on this "trip around the sun," we have many "acquaintance" and these folks can even be family members, people who don't "know" us or even want to "know" us. Then there are the friends. If you remember, we posted one definition of a friend. An "acquaintance" will come down to the jail to bail us out! --------- but a friend will be sitting the jail cell right next to us saying, "damn, that was fun!!!!!"
