There are so many ladies fashions to choose from- just curious about you girls like. I must admit to being reto- i adore the 1950's look, the make, hairstyles and dresses. i think poodle skirts are very cute.

Well as the discussions have gone, when I go out, I do try to blend in TO A POINT! I will NOT wear flip flops, pull on sweat pants, torn sweat top with some innate logo or expression on it!!!!

That being said, I prefer my mini-skirts (What Not To Wear, be damned-- "no mini's after 35", if Casey could look as good as I do in a mini she'd wear them too! )

My style is as I have defined before, "conservatively sexy." I will go out and I will dress nice and if that gets stares then deal with it! I do not go overboard, but I refuse not to look nice! I do have some knee length and longer for various occasions and a couple of formal gowns but basic, go to the movie, its heels 3" - 3 1/2" my, mini-skirt and a nice blouse!

i'll have to agree Virginia , no flip flops, sweat pants or logo on my tops & i too say to heck with no mni's after 35 . Besides aren't fems suppose to lie about age so i'm not 41 i'm really 33 . I do now have some skirts that go to knee or a litttle past but i love the mini's. Stephenie G

Talking about Lenny Kravitz in his 1970s "drag," Lana? If so, yep, I believe they are. Platforms were very popular with guys in the 70s (as were open-backed clogs) but they were not usually as pointy-toed and thin-heeled as the ones Mr. Kravitz is apparently wearing. Maybe the boots belong to Cynthia Scurtis (but I doubt it as she probably has small feet, given that she's only 5'1" tall). No doubt these are his own boots.

Oh! to be a celebrity! They can wear whatever they damn well please (cf. the beach photos of Jim Carrey elsewhere on this forum).

Well, I used to have what I call my fetish clothes. But for the most part I tried to dress somm what my age. Now with most of my young age out o the way, I am mostly conseratively dressed. Yes I do have a couple short skirts as most of us do. I think the only thing that has stayed with me through out the years is my girdles. Call it a fetish or what ever. It has always been a part of me.

Hello all: My favorite look(s) I've generally described as: "nice girl with a hippie accent." Culturally and politically I'm still "alternative," but a totally hippie look just didn't work ("crinkle" skirts made me look... er... fatter-- not flattering at all!) So what I like to do (and it generally looks good) is wear a hippie-ish long hair wig with a "nice girl" outfit and a few hippie-ish accessories. Possible combinations: Turtle neck or mock-neck top, knee length box pleat skirt, boots, poncho, or: Short puff sleeve button front blouse, knee or slightly above knee length denim skirt, light blue "saddle oxfords," peace sign earrings or pendant, or: cute "shirtwaist" dress with a denim jacket over it. You get the idea.
I do like the ways girls used to look when I was in high school (late 1960's): shirtwaist dresses, oxford button down collar shirts under crew neck sweaters with a box pleat skirt and loafers, "bermuda collar" dresses and blouses. But I just like to play with that look a little when I'M wearing it...
A really cute hippie-preppie fusion is to wear a peasant blouse with a box pleat plaid skirt. Looks a lot better than you might think.
Some may think this is a bit theatrical or contrived, and I'll admit that my ideal dream date is a woman who thinks "hippie" but looks "preppie."
Nevertheless "nice girl with a hippie accent" is a look that I like and it seems to work, so I'm going to stick with it.
Love those cheerleader outfits too, but I don't do bare midriffs or super tight, super short skirts. My cheerleader ensembles look more stuff cheerleaders in the mid 1960's through mid 1970's.

I like anything that looks nice, whether retro or current. I prefer skirts rather than slacks/jeans.

Okay, I like victorian fashion, fancy clothes (wearing a girl's tuxedo while enfemme is NEAT), sundresses, bucket hats, headbands, hair bows, knickers, one-piece swimsuits, thigh-high socks, toed socks (they feel great, I even sometimes sneak some on in male mode), tennis dresses, tank tops, nightgowns and anything with tiny scrunched up frills on edges/seams.

That's just a few of what I usually pick out.

Often enough, I just end up wearing clothes based on comfort more than style, which is why I usually end up with a girl's tee and jeans (With my signature pastel-blue hoodie if it's cold) or a blouse and a simple drawstring skirt on hot days.

I know I may be a bit different here but my current look is that of a middle aged woman. I enjoy it as I have matured and it helps me to "blend" in better.

When it comes to favorite eras I would have to say the late 70's and early 80's. I was out of college and on my own so I had just tons of those fashions and I loved the look. Too bad I was still in the closet back then and way too scared to venture past my own backyard and only then under the cover of darkness.
