We have some of the outermost bands of Gustav affecting us...mosty just wind and some tstorms. But I do pray for those who will bear the brunt...ours is just an inconvenience. Now we look toward Hannah, which has a very uncertain course. And a few un-named ones behind her....but its just normal for us. Every area of the world has its own weather phenonema, and I'd rather deal with things that give me warning. Always, its wise to be prepared. So it goes.

No, No, Donna... Don't even think Houston...
This is a nasty storm and I really don't want it heading in our direction...
We've been watching the news consistantly because you never know where this monster will hit... I'm more worried about after it hits Louisanna then turning towards the southwest like they show and stall over the central Texas Gulf coast like Allison did in 2001...Most of Houston was under water...
So far we're fine, a few outer rain bands coming through... We're keeping our fingers crossed that it comes no where near us...

We don't get no Hurricanes here in Washington State
Snow yes. Last year was 2nd most snow in year. 1950's records we broke. 96 Inches (normally we get 4-16")
GLOBAL WARMING
Snowblower got a good workout. I rather have the Snow and Ice than Wind and Water.
We have 9.5 inches of Rain so far, THIS YEAR. I bet NO Area will get that Today.
I lived in Sildel and Tampa area and have been thru them.
Neat the Eye. All Claim with Clouds and Sunshine and Birds come out.
Then Act 2.
70 this week with Sunshine!
Perfect Weather for Watching the Weather Channel!

In Feb 1990 we had a cat 3 hurricane (aka North Atlantic Storm) go thru here. 120mph winds, the Mersey river was over 10 feet higher than it should have been at high tide. Awesome as was the damage eg 4' square sandstone columns sheered off at the base.
God protect all of you in the path of the storm.
FYI the Mersey has the third highest tidal range in the world at 34 feet.

My wife and I just finished a 12 hr stint helping settling in approximately 150 "special needs" patients evacuated from the southern Louisiana coast area. the shift left both of us tired but really thought that our help made a difference in some of their lives. I really felt good being able to help. If you can please volunteer to help those who's lives have been screwed up by Gustav. It will make a difference and your life may be touched.
