Halloween is the most favorite time of the year so its never too early to start thinking what costume to wear.
Jadeanne - I do love the idea of being a 1950's girl.
Maybe go as a Flying Nun, very cute and Sister Christina Marie would be so proud. or a Catholic School girl. So many choices.
hugs

Just starting to explore my feminine nature- am very shy meek and demure. Addicted to looking and acting ladylike. Still have so many questions about exactly who I am- have so many mixed emotions about my gender issues.

Supergirl?
While walking back home from central down town Silver Spring a few days ago, I noticed a new store-- turned out to be a temporary HALLOWEEN shop!
Of course I went in, and they had a pair of shiny white go go boots that just fit! (although the heels are a little bit higher than I'm used to...)
They also had SUPERGIRL outfits that looked a little too skimpy.
But one of the store managers told me that they might be getting some in the more vintage style.
And they might even get some red boots!!
Then I'd just have to find a shiny yellow belt!! (to complete the vintage SUPERGIRL outfit...)
The one other costume I'm looking for is a Japanese school girl uniform. (or two). Those are really cute (and similar to cheerleader outfits)-- anybody know of good sources for Japanese school girl uniforms?
Best wishes for a groovy Halloween 2008!!
Peace-- Kendra Lynn ("hippie cheerleader").
P.S.: To Anita: Halloween in San Francisco must be fab-- maybe some day I'll get there!

Re: Supergirl?
I don't do anything special for Halloween, just if I have the opportunity, I dress as a female!

Kendra, are you sure it isn't a Spells Are Us?Kendra Lynn wrote:I noticed a new store-- turned out to be a temporary HALLOWEEN shop!

SPELLS ARE US
Connie: I take it you you are a devotee of sites like FICTIONMANIA?
I've read more than a few tales in which the SPELLS ARE US wizard takes an important role.
Some of the stories on FICTIONMANIA are really good, but there is also a lot of mediocre stuff.
Enjoy your Halloween!!
Peace-- Kendra Lynn ("hippie cheerleader").

Hi all,
Yesterday I came across another Halloween costume possibility.
I forgot about an above the knee long sleeved black sweater dress with 5 harvest appliques on the bodice - 3 gold ears of corn and in the 2 most prominent places, shiny orange pumpkins with a couple of green leaves.
I will have to experiment with bra/breastform/enhancer combinations to see which would emphasize the pumpkins best.
I visit FICTIONMANIA often and a few months ago I became a volunteer, proofreading submitted stories that I choose to review.
At least when I'm done with a story, it's been through the spell checker, and I fix up grammar and punctuation a bit.

Hmmmm . . . those are some of my biggest pet peeves, and there's absolutely no excuse for them, especially with spell check and grammar correction software readily available!Jadeanne wrote:At least when I'm done with a story, it's been through the spell checker, and I fix up grammar and punctuation a bit.

Yes, Kendra Lynn, I do frequent FM (daily) but first ran into the wizard at the transormation story site way back when.
I think my favorite place now is The Big Closet which has a lot of good authors.
SilverLady, that also is one of my pet peeves, often causing me to not read a story.
Jadeanne, thank you for volunteering your editing skills, I know a lot of writers on-line seem to need the help.
Donna, I wonder that too. Three days without an update, I think.

The official reason behind the lack of FM updates is that they were using a shared server and one of the other sites on the server started doing phishing.
That resulted in a lot of ISPs banning that specific server.
They are in the process of moving the stories to another server with an address that isn't being blocked.
In the meantime, the stories are backed up on the computer of the chief volunteer in charge of the move. They said that they didn't want to add stories until after things were moved to the new server and tested.
I have only worked on a few stories.
Some authors do submit revised versions of their stories and it's not always publicized on the website.
I hope that updates will start again soon and that there will be new pictures for the ongoing caption contest.
