Hi Julie,
What a great post--both a bit sad as well as tremendously inspiring; you have a will and a heart the size of the Rockies! And Kate seems to have the will and the heart to match. Kudos to you both, and to your family, for having sorted out your priorities and for sticking by them. I wish I had your clear-eyed strength. Thanks for sharing this with us, Julie.
May you both be well. My thoughts are with you.
Love,
CJ

Hi Julie!
Thanks so much for sharing part of your life in your post. Both you and your spouse have to be tough ladies to deal with it all. Be well, for both of you, and be yourself!

Hey Julie,
Your wife seems to have found riches beyond compare. Your story was so touching. Yes, sad, but also very inspiring and loving. I can feel the love and compassion you have for your spouse. It's most obvious in what you write. I may have said this before, but you're a gem.
This is usually where i would throw in something of myself in relation to what i read, but that doesn't seem to fit this post. Your wife may be in pain, but you should know that she is also at peace. Peace of mind, stemming for you nurturing care and affection.
She is very lucky.
Excuse me, i must clear the lump in my throat.
Love,
Kyra

By the way, Julie, I imagine many scientists may be moved to tears when faced with the intricate grandeur of the natural world, of which we and our emotions are an integral part.
Also, there unfortunately aren't any emoticons to represent a "lump in the throat." I sometimes wish there were.
Love,
CJ

Hi Julie,
You are an incredible hubby.

BRAVO!! BRAVO!! BRAVO!! for taking care of the one who is truest to you, your wife.
I don't take it for granted for one second the love you give your wife or the caring you give to her. What you're doing is incredibly difficult.
You live your life to help her, out of love.
I'm just in awe of what you're doing and I'm happy to know that such a respectable person is a member of this forum.
If you could see my eyes, you'd know these aren't just words. That was a great post and in my opinion you are a great person! I pray that your wife is doing the best she can be. She was sure blessed when she met you.
All the best,
Beauty

Hi Julie,
I'm still awake and happy that I am.

You write sooo well!!! Your writing creates great pictures to follow your story.
The support we give is the support you give. Have a new person come in and spread their feelings around the forum is like a brand new day. It's great having you here.
I have a question (you don't have to answer) You said neighbors don't offer help and I started to get a little p'd. Then I read the next sentence and you said you're quiet people. So do they not help because they don't know you and your wife?
Again, if I'm being too nosy, nevermind.
Have a good night!!!

Hey Y'all,
I have to put in my two bits here. We (my family) are also fairly quiet people. I thought some of our neighbors were "nose in the air, better than you" sort of people. But after a few waves when driving by, I mustered up some courage and started talking to them. Simple things at first, and then more personal. Hey, it turns out my neighbors aren't all jerks after all.
I mention this even though it might be obvious, but sometimes people tend to stay "standoff-ish" until it's clear that they are welcome. In my personal experience, I found that my neighbors were giving me my space until I was ready to open up to them. After all, we were the new kids on the block. Now I know you've been there quite awhile, but I wonder if they're just trying to be courteous. I dunno. I'm not there living your life. Okay, maybe 20 years of courtesy is too much. (Am i rambling?)
OMG! Senior moment. I forgot the point I wanted to make here. I guess it's that sometimes people need a little nudge to let them know it's okay to say Hi or help with the groceries. Yeah, something like that.
Time to shut up, now.
Hugs,
Kyra
P.S. - You are a wonderful person, and If someone can't see that, it's their loss. Not yours
