30 Mile Yard Sale

Post by Lori A »

All you girls are invited to attend the annual 30 mile yard sale this weekend August 30 thru September 1, 2008 on US-69 between Holladay and Big Sandy, TN. My wife and I bought a lot of girly stuff last year and hope to again this year. Shop til you drop

Thanks for the info, Lori.

I've shopped the gigantic US-127 Yard Sale, which runs the entire length through the states of Tennessee and Kentucky (and it's spreading into Ohio, too), but that is usually held over the long Memorial Day weekend . . . what an experience!

Shop til you drop, ladies!

WOW! I don't believe we have anything like that here in So. Calif. Maybe a block or two long. But 30 miles and longer. Gosh! I'd love to be able to just shop like that all day long. Of course I think once a year would be all I could handle :) .

Yard Sale

Post by Kendra Lynn »

Howdy! Sounds like a lot of fun, but I've almost stopped going to thrift stores and consignment shops because most of the stuff is just too small!!
Still, with THAT much stuff, there must beat least one or two things that would be worth trying on!
Unfortunately ,there is not (as far as I know) anything like that in the Washington, D.C. area.
Enjoy your shopping!

Well hell, your post came too late for me. We drove to Nashville Fri. night/Sat morning, and back again yesterday.

I've heard about the one on US 127, but haven't ventured to that one yet.
Last year we found several skirts, some slips, cami tops, and bras. We hope to get an earlier start this year, but it depends on when my travel agent gets me home

Speaking of shopping, how do we help each other out when trying to find a special buy?

Just asking because I've been looking for a pleated skirt but not much shows up in my little phobic part of the world.
I started off with nothing. I still have most of it.

Short or long?

I found a couple of short ones at Wal-mart while in TX.

Longer ones at Dress Barn or Fashion Bug. Depends on this years fashion trends as well, sometimes.

Goodwill may be a better choice.

The Route 20 corridor in Central New York, especially in the area of Bouckville is well known for its week long "garage sale". Many miles of collectables, visitors and vendors come from all over the country to participate in July or August.
